Playing with some dialogue but I love this scene.

EXT. ERIN'S RANCH - PERIMETER - NIGHT
The pale full moon hangs low in the sky, dipping behind the towering evergreens that line the ranch. Erin holds an axe loosely in her grip, the blade brushes against her jeans, glinting like
quicksilver in the moonlight.
The hooded man, DAVID (early 30s) claws at his leg, CURSING and SOBBING. The foothold trap appears to have broken his foot. Erin
WHISTLES lowly.
ERIN
Nasty break. Every animal that's ever been trapped has to make the same
decision: life or limb?
David SNARLS. Erin smiles, crouching. She gestures with the axe at his leg.
ERIN
Most folks think foothold traps were designed for animals, but they weren't. They were made to trap poachers, invaders, men who take what doesn't belong to them.
(beat)
why were you chasing a girl through the woods?
David LAUGHS. It's high and tinny, like a rabbit screaming.
DAVID
He's
gonna kill you for this.
ERIN
Men who kill to avenge but not to protect aren't men worth following.
Erin kicks his foot. David SHRIEKS.
ERIN

He laughs wildly again.
DAVID

ERIN
I'm not the one in the trap
Before Erin can continue, an utterly alien sounding TRILL pierces the otherwise quiet night. She stands immediately, eyes scanning the darkness for movement.
Another scream reverberates off the trees, the bark shivers.
DAVID (softly)
Yeah, you are.
She turns back to David and rips the hood off his head, her lips part in shock but she quickly regains her composure.
David is rotting.
His flesh is grey and peeling. One eye is milky white, staring blindly. His face is
bloated like
a waterlogged corpse.
He smiles.
DAVID
After tonight I'll be eternal.
ERIN
Well the hood makes sense now.
David SNARLS, Lunging towards her. He
SCREAMS as nis Ioot moves.
ERIN (CONT' D)
Animals have teeth and claws to help them with that decision you're gonna have to make. Since you don't have any...
Erin tosses him the axe. It lands beside him with a THUD.
Another scream. This one is closer. David stiffens.

ERIN (CONT'D)
You'd better hurry. Men aren't the only predators drawn by the scent of blood.
