Simply the best socio-economic policy anyone can vote for this election. If I was splitting hairs, I would say that the six months wait is about six months too long, but it's still a great start.

It’s absolutely pathetic. They have nothing constructive or positive to say. All they have is to push fear of ‘other’.

It has become increasingly striking how Andy Burnham, Mandami, etc are running on stories of hope and change, not fear. Fear is all the right seems to have and it is *exhausting*. The Greens have a vision for how things could be better and I’m here for that and that alone.

So MBIE officials recommended spending less, but targeting the money towards local music festivals. And Louise Upston chose to spend much more, but hand it all to multinational companies and overseas artists.
They reveal MBIE’s reasoning as to why it advised the government against investing in concerts, including a lack of “wider benefit opportunities” and “no international brand visibility”, though it said many countries, including Australia and Malaysia, offer concert funds. Instead, MBIE suggested funding local music festivals with a smaller, discrete, one-off fund. This is advice which Upston also seems to have ignored; late last year, the long-running music festival Splore called it quits, saying its $240,000 funding request had been denied.

Tuning Fork has an amazing acoustic set up too. I really wish more cafes, pubs, and restaurants would make acoustic panelling a core part of their design. Loud echoey rooms are a nightmare.

I’ve just built a home NAS box. Luckily I already had hard drives but between two smallish NVME sticks and 16GB of DDR5 RAM the total cost was probably double what it should’ve been for the whole box

Write to them and tell them that if they don’t cough up they’ll get a statutory demand under s290 of the companies act, which gives them 15 days to pay once served, and if they don’t it creates a presumption of insolvency. Should help focus their minds.

There are about 15,000 jobs advertised today and... - 174,000 people officially unemployed - Another 144,000 people who want more hours - A further 80,000 potential jobseekers (underestimate) This is a failure of laissez-faire economic management on an absolutely tragic scale.

UK gov has just set the perfect example of this with the nationalisation of the Chinese-owned British steel plant in Scunthorpe. Enough with the corporate welfare. If you can’t run an essential business profitably, it should be public.
