Such an inspiring show in the Royal Albert Hall Elgar Room last night and so happy to have an early copy of the album… Good morning.

Friday morning jazzer…
Holding a vinyl copy of Don Rendell Quintet album Space Walk. A black sleeve, faux 80s computer prompt-style font in white, surrounds a brown and burnt reds/oranges painting of weird almost fetus-like swirls.

A little calm for your timeline. 9am, Sydenham Hill Wood, 10th Sep Slightly damp bum with all the rain the previous night, sun glimpses through the canopy onto my glasses, a millipede slinking along the edge of a log, hoverflies coming out into the warming air. Awake, A Dream

I made a 15-minute song about slowing down. Then I put it into a world where you’re supposed to grab attention in three seconds. A year later I caved and made a five-minute edit. Not 100% sure how I feel about that. so I wrote about it: adamscrimshire.substack.com/p/sharing-sl...

Seems like good news but I have to say this is not what I’ve been experiencing as a small label owner. Last few years have been really hard and increased obstacles to directly trading in Europe from the UK are debilitating (thanks Brexit). But I am open to hope.

Farage really is a thin-skinned and deeply unpleasant man, just like his dementia-addled stink bomb hero across the pond. Calls a needless by-election, whines constantly for six weeks, then makes up some drivel to avoid turning up at the count and thus avoid photos next to a bin and countless cranks

Can't be the first to say this, but (and yay UEFA - brilliant) this works equally well if you swap out "football" for maybe "water" or "a stable climate". Look at me being the revolutionary socialist. "No one has the moral authority to sell what they merely hold in trust for the next generation."
The moment external investors acquire ownership interests in
FIFA competitions, football changes forever. Commercial return becomes a permanent obligation. Investor expectations become a daily pressure. From that moment onwards, every decision on the international calendar, every decision on competition formats and every decision shaping the future of football is no longer driven by what best serves the game, but by what best serves shareholders.
This model has no place in world football. Football's future cannot be dictated by the expectations of those whose first duty is to maximise financial return. Nor can the interests of national associations, leagues, clubs, players and supporters become subordinate to investor returns. Football cannot mortgage its future for financial gain.
Europe's position is clear. We will never lend this model our legitimacy. No one has the moral authority to sell what they merely hold in trust for the next generation.

Rosie is a genuinely remarkable talent and even more special human being. Her music oozes humanity even when it’s made on modular synths. If you get a chance to see her live, go and especially her show with Miryam Solomon on vocals. They made a tape called Mara last year. Beautiful.

Listened to this on Weds, I forgot how I used to rinse this album when it came out. Every note, solo, beat is deeply ingrained in me. Released 32 years ago, March 1994!? I was 15 and just starting to make songs. One of a handful of albums on repeat that summer. 1995 was so amazing for music.

I’m sorry, feels so braggy, but I got reviewed in Mojo for the 1st time. Early 90s I started playing with my Amiga 500 and OctaMED. I was obsessed with music mags and news. Bought them all with my wages from the local shop. 15 year old me would be mind blown I got here. Even if it took a while.

Reform have now lost six by-elections in a row in England, Scotland and Wales. Their national poll rating is 26% – below Labour in 1983 – and Farage’s approval rating is -37. They’re very far from the voice of the people and need to stop being treated as such.

I cannot express how jarring it is to hear news coverage of musk’s wealth that make absolutely no mention of the fact that *this week* he was calling for pogroms in the UK, networks with far right extremists using Moscow as a meeting point, and is open about a desire to bring down the UK government.

“When hell is full the dead will walk the earth” Comments sections are no longer the hiding place of the racists and the trans haters though they are oppressively racist and hate-filled now. Years of political leaders spouting anti-immigrant rhetoric legitimised hate as it was always intended

The hate in the uk at the moment is fucking depressing. Racism, anti-trans hate, anti-refugee violence. A Green Party post calling out vastly overblown trans fearmongering and comments were all “not now” “more important things” etc. if we don’t call out hate daily. What the fuck are we doing.

 Page from a book saying:

From EARTHSEED: THE BOOKS OF THE LIVING
Choose your Leaders with wisdom and forethought.
To be led by a coward is to be controlled
by all that the coward fears.
To be led by a fool is to be led
by the opportunists who control the fool.
To be led by a thief is to offer up your most precious treasures to be stolen.
To be led by a liar
is to ask to be told lies.
To be led by a tyrant is to sell yourself and those you love into slavery.
