Rest in peace to my tiny tough guy Marvin. Big Mar, baby mar mar, my first cat. This sweet, fearless creature cuddled me throughout my 20s. He loved smelling grass outside under blue skies and I’m just really happy I had him in my life for 14yrs. ☀️🥲💙

The Summer Solstice arrives today, June 21, bringing the longest day of the year to the Northern Hemisphere. But did you know the seasons aren't caused by Earth's distance from the Sun? 🧪
Background: A bright Sun in a blue sky with scattered, thin clouds, directly overhead. Text: Summer solstice is here! June 21, 2026, marks the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere — the longest day and shortest night of the year. Swipe (and an arrow to the right). Background: Photograph of a thick tree, edited into quadrants that reveal the tree in each season, from winter in the upper left, to autumn in the lower left. Text: Why do we have seasons? Not because Earth moves closer to and farther from the Sun. That's one of astronomy's most common misconceptions. Background: Artist's impression of a large asteroid and Earth, with a bright Sun in the background. Text: Blame an ancient cosmic collision. Billions of years ago, a wandering mini-planet slammed into the young Earth. The impact knocked our planet slightly sideways. Background: Composite graphic of Earth, showing it's thin blue atmosphere, with a bright sun streaming above it and stars in the background.
