The Instagram algorithm has figured out I'm job searching but not what kind of jobs I'm looking for. I'm getting the most random "we're hiring" posts in my feed now. Like, no, I will not be applying for your part time cat adoption coordinator role in Arkansas, as fun as that might sound.

I went to university during a wild time in the early 00s where some profs used overhead projectors and others used PowerPoint. Heaven help anyone who had to teach in a classroom set up for the opposite.

Put another way, Ford wants to spend more on removing bike lanes in Toronto ($48M) than he's spent protecting all of Ontario's businesses from an international trade war. Ontario deserves serious leadership, that follows through on promises, and actually puts people before profits.

Surprisingly relevant timing. I explained to my biz accelerator class yesterday that they don't own their social media audiences, and can lose access to them any time Meta wants to shut down their accounts.

It blows my mind when people’s defence of using gen AI is, ‘Well, if I need a picture, what do you suggest I do? I don’t have time to learn to draw!’ The same thing you did four years ago, you microwaved fruit loop.

I saw a billboard for Second Cup this morning, but I don't think I've seen an actual Second Cup store in at least 2 decades. The billboard didn't have a location on it, and it was out in a field in the middle of butt-fuck nowhere. Where are these Second Cup stores they're advertising?

"The average time to find a job after a layoff or termination in 2025 was five months." 🫠 I'm grateful that I'm eligible for 58 weeks of EI as a "long-tenured employee", but the maximum EI benefit rate is ridiculously low. As a single person, I can't afford to live off of EI alone.

This is what we've warned municipal councils about across the country. A developer can say they're building one thing, but legislatively there is nothing to stop them from building a very different thing. That's the whole banana. Thank you once again @its.small.patatas.ca for reporting this.

Infuriating. “Local public hospitals already have the facilities: operating rooms and MRIs are sitting unused in local public hospitals because they are not given adequate funding to run them full time,” says the report..." #OnPoli #OnHealth
“Furthermore, the evidence is that the for-profit clinics have not reduced wait times for the majority, serving mostly a minority of high-income people while actually lengthening waits for the majority of patients.”

**Lights Out Alert Sunday & Monday Nights** Birdcast is estimating 300-400 million birds will be in flight.
From meteorologist Eric Snitil

**Lights Out Alert Sunday & Monday Nights**

"Heads up birders, I would not be surprised if the biggest bird migration night of the year happens over the next 2 nights. Birdcast is estimating 300-400 million birds will be in flight. That is a lot, but the pattern could not be better for migratory birds. A massive area of high pressure will turn the low level winds from the northeast to the southwest across most of the US. The last time we had anything similar to this in the fall was early October last year when a record 1.25 billion birds were in flight. I doubt we get to that level, but I suspect the number will top 500 million especially Monday night which looks to be the bigger of the two nights. You can help by turning off those outdoor lights on big migration nights, and the next 2 nights is about as big as it gets."
