-- WEEK 12 #NFL 🏈 Playoff Leverage -- Here you can see 1.) how the playoff probability of each team changes depending on whether they win or lose the next game, and 2.) the combined playoff leverage of the teams involved in each game, sorted by kickoff time.
The chart shows NFL team logos. Their position corresponds to the current probability that the team will make the playoffs this year.
Comets go from the logos to the right and left. Their final position corresponds to the probability that the respective team will make the playoffs if it wins or loses in the current week.
At the end of the comets are the probabilities in percent.
The probabilities are based on 50,000 simulations of the remaining NFL season.

oooh new version of Positron just released and it has (1) github copilot chat and (2) automatic {dplyr} code generation based on filtering/sorting/etc that you do in the data viewer #rstats
Me saying "hey it's github copilot chat in my positron" Automatically generated dplyr code that matches the filtering and arranging that I did by clicking on columns in the data viewer

NFL 2025 schedule is out! Let's have a look at each team's schedule and the strength of their opponents measured in expected wins through Vegas win totals. Red lines represent team win total. Opponents above red line are expected to win more games, opps below the red line are expected to win less.
For each NFL team (AFC), logos of their 2025 opponents by week show the opponent's Vegas win total and compare them to the team's in total. For each NFL team (NFC), logos of their 2025 opponents by week show the opponent's Vegas win total and compare them to the team's in total.

More land animals than ever before are slaughtered for meat
The image presents a data visualization illustrating the number of animals killed for meat worldwide from 1961 to 2022. It is divided into four sections:

1. **Chickens**: The graph starts at zero in 1961 and rises sharply, reaching approximately 60 billion killed by 2022.

2. **Pigs**: This chart shows a more gradual increase, starting from zero in 1961 and peaking at around 1 billion killed by 2022.

3. **Sheep and Goats**: This line shows a steady rise from zero in 1961 to nearly 400 million by 2022, with a peak near 1 billion.

4. **Cows**: This graph shows a slow but consistent increase from zero to about 300 million killed by 2022.

Each section has a label indicating the species and the number of animals on the vertical axis, while the horizontal axis marks the years from 1961 to 2022. The bottom of the image references the data source as the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN from 2023, with a CC BY attribution.
