Union folk at Nottingham have done so much, attended so many meetings with senior management trying to have meaningful discussions, reframing the narrative, writing detailed counterproposals. It's not been nothing but the fight goes on.

Derecognising unions is an own-goal for university managers. The amount of work union committees & caseworkers do to make policies not just fair & equitable but fundamentally workable is astonishing. Without us there'll be more grievances, more long term sickness & more IA.

Petty annoyance of today, but if you actually studied masters level at Oxford, you likely do NOT have an MA. And if you say you have an MA in a subject, you probably do not. (You likely paid the fee to amend your UG degree subject + classification to a generic MA, no subject, no classification)

Morning! Looks like Naomi Klein’s on the march again, and I’m happy to fall into step. I think “traitors to creation” is a wonderful coinage. Yeah. That’s it. The tech-wealth lot are traitors to creation. What’s the penalty for treason again?
“I don't tend to use this language, I try to be measured, but I think I've earned the right to escalate," she says. "The moment we're in, people are really mad and however mad you are, it's not enough. Because there is something so profound about no longer believing in the future, about seeing no value in our shared home, in the natural world.
They're traitors to creation."
