Ealing declared a Climate Emergency in 2019. Active travel is in every Ealing strategy. So why does its own Core Route on Popes Lane get no protected cycle track? Actions are needed, not words Take the council's 5-minute survey and demand a protected cycle track on Popes lane 👉 dub.sh/popeslane

The council seems to think yellow lines will stop people blocking the road or any painted cycle lane.

We’ve published an article about Ealing Council’s new consultation on Popes Lane. The proposal is peppered with references to active travel, yet it fails to provide an east/west cycle track. Please take a look, respond to the survey and share widely. www.betterealingstreets.org.uk/post/the-mon...

The Money, the Mandate: Ealing Council's Missing Cycle Route.
Ealing Council is consulting on a major scheme for Popes Lane. Much of it is good. But on a street its own plan calls a Core Route for cycling, the plans deliver no protected cycle track. Here is why that matters, and how to ask for it before the consultation closes on 26 July. Reply directly to the council's consultation at haveyoursay.ealing.gov.uk/en-GB/projects/popes-lane.Popes Lane, between the A406 and Rose Gardens, is about to be rebuilt. The council's scheme would remove the obstructive

Disgraceful joking about her serial driving offending from "national treasure" Dame Maureen Lipman. Maybe a bit of time spent with someone who has lost a loved one through this crime (which is what it is, no less because so many drivers do it) might help? I note: * This was the 1./

Some of our recent work. This hot-spot is notorious for cars with no plates, SORN cars, untaxed cars. We lifted 12 cars, issued 36 PCNs, and reported misused of 15 trade plates to the DVLA.

Instead of forcing kids to rely on their parents for every trip, cities can provide safe, connected mobility for all ages. This fosters early freedom and responsibility, shaping more independent, capable kids than those confined to car dependency.

I love cycling. If I'm ever killed by a motorist; whether through negligence, weakness, or their own deliberate fault... I hope no one says I died doing what I loved. Instead let people say I was interrupted doing what I loved, and killed by a motorist.

🧵1/2. Those in charge of vehicles that can cause the greatest harm bear the greatest responsibility to take care & reduce the danger they pose to others. This film by Co-Pilot brilliantly explains the hierarchy of responsibility on our roads—a crucial concept in the Highway Code.

Global Cycling Network (GCN) are making increasingly helpful and important videos. The sort of thing I would have expected from the BBC, now produced by a small group of passionate cyclists. Inspiring stuff. But also in this video, really quite depressing! www.youtube.com/watch?v=-_4G...

Hi there 👋 I recently left the X hole and it seems much nicer around here. I live walk and cycle in Ealing, London, and campaign for safer streets and active travel. Here’s Mabel on the front of her bike.
