Thank you Jeff! I will share that I was definitely not hand picked by Rashi. No great pro-housing candidates stepped up. So I decided to run. And Rashi recognized I was the strongest on the issues she cares about most. And I am without hesitation the strongest on housing at all levels.

“There’s strong evidence that bike lanes are good for local businesses, and my guess is that a year after installation, most people won’t even remember why this was such a big fight,” Bernet said. That’s right. Let’s go 💪🚲

Housing policy is climate policy and I’m grateful for the endorsement of an organization that really gets that. 🙏🌞

Californians: you're going to hear about the Starter Home Revitalization Act a lot over the next few years. In short, it legalizes small-lot infill ownership homes (ie townhomes and cottage courts) by-right everywhere housing is allowed, with strict approval deadlines similar to those for ADUs.

I’m running for City Council to get back to the basics:  • Pave our roads • Safe infrastructure • Tackle the deferred maintenance backlog • Deliver safety upgrades for everyone  Decades of neglect left us with a $250M+ pavement backlog. Let’s build safe, smooth streets across Berkeley! 🚴 🚦 🚗

I meet too many people who complain that transit needs to be better in Berkeley. We have negligent AC transit directors abdicating their responsibility rather than focusing on their jobs. It’s no wonder it’s not better. Make sure to vote @valencia4actransit.bsky.social And thank Jean Walsh!

*Day FIVE* of the IMMENSELY valuable parking directly in front of Monterey Market continues to serve as a used car sales lot. Where is the outrage from the folks so worried about loss of parking from bike lanes??

To build more affordable ownership options, we need faster permitting, pre-approved plans & more ADU, among other policies. Check out video 2 of 3 from my shoot with @brandonyung.bsky.social! 🙏 Stay tuned for the final installment, and huge thanks to Brandon for all the work on this series! 🎥

NW Berkeley home prices hit $1.5M this summer - that makes ownership impossible for most regular people. Berkeley has done a good job building rental apartments, but we need more paths to ownership. Condos, missing middle housing & single-stair reform will help bring young families to Berkeley.

Reporting from Berkeley on why repaving must include street safety upgrades! After Rose St was repaved, speeds jumped 5mph—increasing collision risk. Thanks to 2024’s Measure FF, we have funds for speed bumps & traffic calming to reach our Vision Zero goals. 📹: @brandonyung.bsky.social 🙏

*Day three* of taking up a parking space on Hopkins that would much better serve the entire community as a protected bike lane rather than a used car sales lot!

Jean Walsh is the real deal! She leads with enthusiasm, principles, and strategic vision, never settling for status quo public transit in Alameda County. Plus, her car-free happy hours are a monthly treat! I'm honored to have her endorsement and support out door knocking with me! 🚌🚏❤️💪

I’m running for Berkeley city council in this district. It is a defining issue in the election. Despite the fact that it has already been voted on and approved *multiple times* These NIMBYs want to elect someone that will try to undo it. I am the strongest supporter of this bike lane. Let’s go 💪

I hope so, too. As for 4th street: Different streets, different tools! 4th Street would be amazing as a car-free pedestrian plaza. Hopkins is a key transit corridor that needs safe passage for people on bikes.

Bike lanes are more often than not good for business. Furthermore there is very little curb management on Hopkins currently. The implementation of time-limited curbside parking zones and meters can ensure sufficient turnover to minimize impact on business. transformca.org/bike-lanes-a...

Makes me sad and in disbelief that Berkeley is getting sued for violating environmental law “CEQA” for an intention to build a bike lane. Doesnt seem real. A despicable, hopefully not too costly distraction. Parking is good for the environment after all! www.berkeleyscanner.com/2026/09/03/c...

btw what inspired this post was a bike trip to berkeley bowl west and finally noting a duplex being built on ninth. looking it up now it was proposed as soon as missing middle zoning kicked in (13th of nov 25), approved within two weeks, and it's already at framing. that's what i like to see!

I get that rebalancing street design away from car dominance is inconvenient to those whose lifestyle is fully oriented around driving. But personal passenger vehicles are the No 1 source of GHG emissions in CA. Taking action to address this isn't "environmentalism gone awry", it's a core component.
"Berkeley resident Max Lynn watched in disbelief last month as the City Council voted to eliminate over half of the parking spaces on Hopkins Street in favor of bike lanes. Not because he's anti-environment, but because he viewed it as environmentalism gone awry.
"I've lived here for 23 years, and I've ridden bikes, walked, ran, driven cars up and down the street the whole time," Lynn said. "I'm not sure why they need to be so radical. It's almost militant.""Chart of "2023 GHG Emissions by Scoping Plan Sector and Sub-Sector." showing transportation as the biggest pie piece at 37.1% and passenger vehicles specifically at 28.3%
