I’ve known Fred since we were 13. He’s a really good man and would be an awesome addition to congress. He’s definitely a fighter. He needs our support. Especially if you’re in Missouri!

I know I’m speaking to the choir here, but why the F$&* was it necessary to bring all the flag officers in for a F2F? This stunt cost M$ for a 3 hour meeting? Couldn’t you just do a Global broadcast (on secure lines) to lay down the law? You’re so insecure you need to put on a show?!?

Is anyone else as exhausted as I am? I’m just so tired of the chaos, tired of the hatred and bigoted confrontations people are feeling free to initiate. How can we get our society back to respecting other people and to stop being so self focused. Stop forcing your beliefs on others. Let people be.

"my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge"
"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."

Sure, let’s dissect the mental and physical acuity of the former president who sought to make lives in America better while minimizing the reality of a deranged arsonist dismantling the country we’ve known and loved. What a failure to meet this moment.

Be more like Marc Elias. He exemplifies what it means to be a “fighter.” It’s that attitude of acknowledging the fear, flipping the source of it bird, and then walking toward it, 100% invested in victory. There are only a handful of people in politics right now that inspire me. Marc is #1

They were careless people, Tom and Daisy- they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made. -FS Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby, published 4/10/1925.
Original 1925 jacket cover of The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby
Here is a novel, glamorous, ironical, compassionate a marvellous fusion into unity of the curious incongruities of the life of the period which reveals a hero like no other one who could live at no other time and in no other place. But he will live as a character, we surmise, as long as the memory of any reader lasts.
"There was something gorgeous about him, some heightened sensitivity to the promises of life. ..
It was an
extraordinary gift for hope, a romantic readiness such as I have never found in any other person and which it is not likely I shall ever find again?"
It is the story of this Jay Gatsby who came so mysteriously to West Egg, of his sumptuous er-tertainments, and of his love for Daisy Buchanan a story that ranges from pure lyrical beauty to sheer brutal realism, and is infused with a sense of the strangeness of human circumstance in a heedless universe.
It is a magical, living book, blended of irony, romance, and mysticism.

How DOGE will *add* to the federal budget: It will fire government workers who will be replaced by private contractors at higher rates. It will cancel contracts that will be renegotiated at higher rates.

The goal is to terrorize federal workers into quitting. That’s it. Constant changes. Canceling work from home then closing offices. Laying off probationary employees. It’s designed to break the government. Then privatize it for profit. It’s not efficiency. It’s collapse. Only peasants will suffer.

Also, I keep hearing the excuse “what do you have against auditing to find fraud and waste?” Completely willful ignorance because actually using critical thinking skills is too hard. If they really wanted to find fraud and waste there would be forensic accountants and lawyers on the team.

The only explanation at this point is willful ignorance. Acting like an ostrich will not make what you wish was going on actually be what’s going on.
