Today the Greens put up our amendment to the government’s escalation pathway bill to finally put clinical human override back in aged care assessments. It was very disappointing to see the Coalition fold, and side with the government to defeat our amendment, and pass this half-measure unchanged.

And what more proximate example of 'a breakdown of international rules' could Albo see from his hotel in NY than the arrival of Benjamin Netanyahu with the connivance of the US government.

At best it's mindless performative tosh, though that's to be expected if,as Tim Wilson said, Angus Taylor is their strongest 'policy mind'. OTH the creeping (malevolent) fascism angle works for me too.

The response to 9/11 intensified an “imperial arrogance,” as Edward Said called it, “unschooled in worldliness, unfettered either by competence or experience, undeterred by history or human complexity, unrepentant in its violence and the cruelty of its technology.” Adom Getachew on its aftermath:

let’s make sure Minns never lives this down. The police were doing what he asked them to do. We can ignore the “public safe” bit because the police in fact attacked the public, including Muslims during prayer.

You'd have to be in a similar state not to see that the logic of your critique is that only LNP and Labor will ever be acceptable to you. Why stop at parties? The ALP in 1972 did not have one MP who had been responsible for contributing to the last ALP government Budget .

David Shoebridge unloads on Labor/ON/LNP for yet again joining forces to block a gas export tax & says it’s time to “replace Labor” — not with parties who “wander off to some Sicilian resort with the billionaire class”🔥 but with the only party who stands up to them, The Greens.

This is a bizarre debate. The US wouldn’t request ships (they already have the Wedgetail) from Australia. A google search shows we have none that would be any credible use. Rest assured, if we had any, Marles and Albo would have been itching to send them. Let’s repeat what’s needed here - no war.
