Flight drama notwithstanding, I had a wonderful time last week checking out a new corner of Alaska. Were it not for the dark winters I'd probably do very well up there.

My husband and his friends realised they thought they were good guys but still made like, ironic-sexist jokes. They introduced the 'sexism snake' where wherever one of them made a sexist comment or joke, the others would just start hissing. Didn't need to get into an argument about it, just hissing.

Doing backstage custodial work has really opened my eyes to the fact some people are never taught to clean up after shaving. Ballet dancers, Broadway actors, musicians, comedians, podcasters, all of em leave sinks full of hair clippings. Whatever happened to "Leave it better than you found it"?

Sometimes I find a notebook from fifteen years ago and realize I've been wrestling with the same stuff my entire career.

FUN FACT! A ton (if not most!) Indigenous languages don't have a word for "wilderness" because that's such a colonial concept There's only words for "home" and "the land (a living being)". Land is always doing what it's meant to, unless something like us is preventing it

Oh forever and ever it will always be Mt. Hood in Oregon. The first time I flew into Portland it's beauty filled my heart just as it filled my entire view from that tiny airplane window. Currently waiting with bated breath to hike it's trails before winter strikes!
