Mandatory minimum sentencing like this removing judicial discretion is an outdated relic of the Reagan years. It has done nothing except to turn Prisons-for-Profit into a multi-billion dollar a year industry fed by poorer communities. Fent is a *highly* dangerous drug, but this isn't the answer.

I have no doubt that the Rand Corp did many such analyses, most likely back in the 1960s. Projecting the effects of catastrophic events is what they did, and it wasn't limited to just nuclear war scenarios. Republican policies enacted the mechanisms of concentrating wealth but ignored the results.

They want you to do everything up to giving a blood sample to cast a ballot (that's next), but you can get a passport entirely online. And they'll never even notice that complete disconnect. Did you know you can use your passport as proof of citizenship when you register to vote?🙄

One point many miss on these "immigration courts": They are not courts, but part of the Executive branch under the DOJ. The "judges" work for the President These are NOT independent courtrooms under the Judicial branch of government, these are administrative bureaucratic offices working for Trump.
