I'm starting to see an annoying trend. You'll have some article talking about problems with genAI, and then somewhere in it is a line like "It's still useful in some cases, I'm using it for programming". The use for software seems to become an acceptable exception.

"I see fatigued faces, I see frustration, [...]" I'm one of the fatigued ones. Forced ai use seems to have literally caused me mental health issues that I now need to recover from. I can still program in the traditional way though. Someone save me by hiring me to someplace safe?

i get why AI is so depressing to me. because covid already shrunk my world to almost nothing, where almost all of my life revolves around socializing and watching videos on the internet (which is being ruined by AI) and creating creative works through coding (which is being ruined by AI), often using open source tools and libraries (which are being ruined by AI)

i already had so little and now even that is being rotted away before my eyes

I've been thinking that in any software/tech company, various relevant positions (e.g. C-suite, developers) should be required to show they understand and can apply ethics. And if they fail the ethics part, that is grounds for them to be removed from doing anything impactful.
