Chants of 'Don't protect the women, we can fight. We don't need your fascist shite' rang out in Glasgow tonight. As anti-fascists, women's rights groups and trade unionists protested against 'patriot platform' and their supporters pushing their racist agenda in the city. Things you love to see ✊

Why on earth does this BBC piece on Burnham telling an interviewer the UK security services confirmed Russian interference in the Brexit referendum require a response from a pro Brexit pressure group? It's literally our Prime Minister telling us about election security. It's nothing to do with them.
The prime minister told The Rest is Politics podcast that upon arriving in No 10, he had asked about possible Russian interference in the 2016 vote, adding: "I've had the clear answer that, yes, there was."

"I think we've been too much on the back foot on that actually and we haven't informed people sufficiently about the extent to which people are seeking to disrupt the political process from overseas," he added.

Burnham did not provide further details about the type or extent of Moscow's activity during the Brexit referendum.

Britain Unbound, a pro-Brexit campaign group, said Burnham's comments were "another crude attempt to undermine the legitimacy of the decision that the British people made in 2016".

It said that foreign interference in UK elections was "obviously unacceptable" but added: "There is no good reason to believe that Russian intervention influenced the outcome of the referendum in 2016.

Your regular reminder that almost everything Trump is getting away with is not because of presidential strength, but because of congressional weakness and judicial deference. The constitutional tools are already there to fix this, but those who can fix it are refusing to do so.

You can see his point. If my memory serves (it probably doesn’t) Psalm 78 had a verse that read ‘With haemorrhoids in the hinder parts, He strake his enemies all, And put them thus unto a shame, That was perpetual’. And that was mild in Calvin et al’s vengeful God approach.

‘tis true. Okay, dodging any risk with postal votes may not be the main reason we are coming, but as we’re there, we may as well show the teens how it works. Plus, D votes straight Democrat, except for the Town Clerk who has helped him vote from overseas for years. It’ll be nice to meet her.

There has been a campaign for several weeks, across various social media, questioning the fairness and affordability of the triple lock. Mumsnet has been widely seeded with posts designed to shift opinion. I’m not saying that’s necessarily bad, but I don’t think the shift is just down to yesterday.

Then we come to these ‘rogue’ AI ‘hacks’ on government websites etc. This is *not* different. It’s the same basic approach. The AI ignores the privacy of these sites, just like it ignores our personal privacy. It seeks out data, because that’s what it does. This is not special. Not ‘rogue’.

Two tier policing. Victoria Thomas Bowen, who chucked a milkshake at Farage, was given a 13-week jail sentence, suspended for 12 months; had to pay him £150 compensation; had to complete 120 hours of unpaid work and pay £450 in court costs. It was nowhere near the level of violence of this assault.

Also remaining: the inequality that allows some to travel to Switzerland for an assisted death; and an absolute failure to understand that not all terminal illnesses can be effectively palliated. My heart breaks (again) for my husband, and those like him, who will die a foul terrifying death now.
