Movie posters that could only be put up in British railway stations, one of a series of probably one.
An ad for a ghost movie with the tagline "See it. Séance. Haunted."; a reference to the British Transport Police's long-running "See it. Say it. Sorted." ads encouraging the public to report anything vaguely suspicious.

Just wondering whether the current popularity of the moustache with young men can be directly traced back to Mike Wozniak’s appearance on Taskmaster.

NO. DO NOT DO THIS. Do NOT think about The Event and under NO circumstances attempt to relive The Event. This may cause DISTRESS and CONFUSION. REMAIN INDOORS.
A double decker London bus with a poster on the side of it, saying “Relive the Event”. The poster is advertising Disney+ and the event in question is the Oasis reunion tour.

The other free exhibition I saw today was René Magritte at the Gagosian. It's about his influence on contemporary art, so there are various works not by him on show too, but his stuff is by far the best, and although the Gagosian's quite small, loads is packed in. On till 12th December. Recommended!
The painting The Listening Room (1958) by René Magritte. It's a room containing nothing but a massive green apple. The painting Natural Selection (1938) by René Magritte. It's a landscape with clouds, but the clouds are all on the ground, looking rather like giant sheep. The painting The Equator (1942) by René Magritte. It features a plant that turns into pigeons, an egg and some sky. It's quite hard to describe surrealist works, innit. The painting The Traveller (1937) by René Magritte. It's a seascape with a dark sky. Floating in the sky is a sort of surrealist moon made up of objects Magritte often painting, including an armchair, a lion, a tuba, a mirror, a barrel, some leafy branches, and a sculpture of a nude female torso.

Saw some excellent free art in London today. First up, Nicola Turner, whose betentacled wool-and-horsehair sculpture can currently be seen climbing the Annely Juda gallery in Hanover Square. If you go inside, there are more organic tentacles and ambulant globules to be seen. On till 7th November.

I saw this sign posted on Tumblr and thought "is that a chainsaw, or is it in fact an extremely hardcore duck?"
A photo of a sign that indicates "no chainsaws allowed", made from a stylized image of a chainsaw surrounded by a red circle with a diagonal line through it. The photo was taken by the person who runs the qualitysigns.tumblr.com blog in Doncaster, UK, in 2025. A picture of a duck by me. The duck's head is shaped like the chainsaw from the sign in the previous image and the rest of the duck is spiky and studded to match. The caption says "chainsaw duck".

Went to see Avengers Endgame Encore at my local cinema and saw the (brief) new bits at the end and got excited by the prospect of Avengers Doomsday. Then came home and read about the new bits and learned that one was missing from my screening because only big flash cinemas show all 4? What a swizz.

The chaotic keycutters near the station (rogue boots and batteries in grey plastic tubs) now has a name. I love it. It sounds like something from Borges and thus gives validation to the disorder and entropy of the shop, allowing it to exist within the unreliable ontology of a Borgesian short story.
The key cutters on Station Road is now called The Old Pharosian Cobbler. I am willing to believe that this is an Egyptian reference as opposed to the proprietor being an old boy of Dover Grammar School.
