Alone isn’t a goal. We all live on roads we didn’t pave, drink water we didn’t purify and use tech we didn’t invent. For autistic people, ongoing support isn’t a weakness to fix. It’s the ramp and power grid that makes life possible. You don’t rip out power lines to see if the city can cope.

I get told I recharge alot, that is true. My battery drains alot. It's not that the battery is trash, it's that the world is super cold for us autistics and batteries drain super fast in the cold, well mine does.

Why is it a comfort zone if I'm not supposed to stay in it? It's not good to get to the point of meltdowns, shutdowns or autistic burnout. Asking a fish to grab some food from the surface is asking to go out of comfort zone, but doable. Tossing it on land and demanding it climbs a tree is not.

It is a myth that all autistic people love and are good at technology. While there are certainly autistic people that fall into this group, many do not. In fact, lots of autistic people have little or no ability to code, operate software, or use household electronics.

I was autistic when I was a “quirky” kid who didn’t get a referral. I was autistic when I said “I can’t possibly be autistic.” I was autistic when I was evaluated and misdiagnosed. I’m autistic now. Every autistic person is autistic before they get “officially” diagnosed.
