Autistic Adam @autisticadam.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Being autistic but there is something worse than being alone and that is being with people that make you feel alone. I isolate most of the time. I find comfort in music and my interests instead of humans. Music and my interests are very important to me. I feel free when I'm alone. 10993
Autistic Adam @autisticadam.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Autistics are far more likely to suffer from sleep problems and anxiety than those that are not. The stats on this are quite high. It can be difficult to switch the brain off so that you can settle down for the night. In order to help me achieve this tonight, soothing flute music is in order. 2291
Autistic Adam @autisticadam.bsky.social · 27/09/2026Being autistic is knowing I won't fit in with others. Even after years of trying. All it will do is lead to burnout. Is that worth it ? I don't think so. At least with my own space and minimal time around others anyway it reduces the risk of anxiety or anything else for that matter massively. 3346
Autistic Adam @autisticadam.bsky.social · 25/09/2026Part of my autistic experience is often not being able to find the words or, if I can find them, not being able to speak them. This is a regular acurance in a public setting. It feels like there’s some kind of block, like my brain is so busy that there’s been an abrupt stop. 1332
Autistic Adam @autisticadam.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Autistic me is getting such a nice feeling now that the cooler nights are starting to happen and I'll actually get some decent sleep. Something I struggle with in the summer months, even more so this year in the UK. Autumn is my favourite time of the year when my body temperature is just right. 1240
Autistic Adam @autisticadam.bsky.social · 21/09/2026As an autistic person, being told I understand how you are when you don't understand how I am feels quite insulting actually. We're not all the same. We don't have all the same traits. We don't all have the same interests. The list goes on. I do love a good list though. 1302

Autistic Adam @autisticadam.bsky.social · 17/09/2026As an autistic person who likes everything to make sense, this often follows up with me analysing my feelings extensively. This can be very good for my self-awareness, but it can also result in my feelings feeling bigger than they actually are, which can at times leave me feeling overwhelmed. 1260
Autistic Adam @autisticadam.bsky.social · 06/09/2026Sorry for infodumping about my interest out of nowhere, you said a keyword and it activated my unskippable dialogue. #autistic 2317
Autistic Adam @autisticadam.bsky.social · 06/09/2026It's quite bizarre how often I get told "knew you was autistic" without me telling them. Not sure how I feel about that actually. 3120
Autistic Adam @autisticadam.bsky.social · 30/08/2026Autistic me has lots of stuff that I should be doing. Today I research information on a interest. Never seems to be enough hours in the day to do this at all. Even if you find yourself able to spend 4, 8, 12 hours plus, Its just never enough is it. You're thinking it probably should be but it's not. 0170

Autistic Adam @autisticadam.bsky.social · 30/08/2026I can only see this as a positive step forward to a certain point. The certain point being, what about someone adding you back in to that pack? I personally think adding the option so you can't be re added back in and I don't mean well just block the person. Or is that the future plan with this. 160

Autistic Adam @autisticadam.bsky.social · 28/08/2026Being late diagnosed autistic is realising everybody else was not rehearsing conversations, mentally preparing to leave the house, getting overwhelmed by noise and needing a recovery day after being social. Autistic Adam @autisticadam.bsky.social · 27/08/2026The autistic experience of others constantly asking how you are or how are you feeling today. Well it's not to me, if you're going to ask then you've gave me the green light to tell you. 4452
Autistic Adam @autisticadam.bsky.social · 26/08/2026The possibility of being Interrupted is very disruptive. More so being autistic. I can't begin a rest if there is a reasonable chance I will be disrupted. If I know something is happening but not when, I won't be able to rest until it's happened. At this point I might not have much time to rest. 0283

Autistic Adam @autisticadam.bsky.social · 21/08/2026Managing autistic burnout is not fun. It's identifying what is taking energy and giving energy. I use Google Calendar and put things in green that make me feel better, yellow that is neutral, red that makes me feel worse. I just try to eliminate as much red as I can and add greens where possible. 5383
