And what I always try to get people to understand is that debt leads to incarceration. And it’s happening ALL around us. We have not even seen the worst of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act that Trump passed though most have forgotten. You are being pushed to the edges of society

It’s worse than this. Having been in the room with many of them (long ago, before I knew they were psychopaths), the tycoons who are left running the industry have an active contempt for ordinary people, including their own workers. They actively want to oppress, control and punish them.

My day job is at a rural branch of a public library, and we have a Pride display. Yesterday I was at the desk when a man came in. Fifties, maybe, or sixties. Plaid shirt, mesh trucker cap, suspenders. He went up to the display and just stood there for a long moment. Then he came up to the desk. 🧵 1/

I think conspiracy may be a bad frame for right wing election denial because what they’re really expressing is a belief in is the idea that non-white people shouldn’t be able to vote.

The days of being impressed by wealthy people in high fashion at galas & awards shows are kinda done. Not saying I'm completely immune from indulging but it's some real bread & circuses shit. It gets farther & farther from the lives any of us watching will ever attain. They're being rich, we suffer.

this is what i meant weeks ago when i said so much of the aggressive surge in migrant policing felt like a boundary test, where a period of highly visible violence would eventually recede in favor of less visible and more "professionalized" migrant policing at a level beyond its baseline pre-trump.
