Scholars debate exactly how good conditions were for religious minorities in Islamic Al-Andalus, but everyone agrees it was better for Jews than Christian rule. It takes some chutzpah for a Catholic priest to go to Jerusalem and say this, given what happened to the Jews when Catholics took Spain.

I’m #autistic & I like who I am. I’m not perfect, but no one is. I think my life is valuable & worthy of existence. When people talk about preventing or curing autism, they are telling me they don’t think my life is valuable. They think the world would be just fine or better off without me in it.

The problem with this framing is that they always define “right to exist” as “right to prioritize maintaining a Jewish voting majority above enfranchising everyone who lives in the governed territories.” Which gets you precisely into the policies in question.

Do you understand that brands aren’t FORCED to get kosher or halal certification? It’s something they choose to do for their customers, because they think it will be good for their business. They want more people to be able to buy their product. No one is forcing anything on anyone.
