Since this has blown up, maybe go and donate to Nijiiro Diversity, a non profit based in Osaka with a focus on tackling LGBTQ+ discrimination in the workforce. I feel that considering the plot of the movie, that's a very thematically appropriate thing to do.

We are seeking to mentor writers who are relatively early in their careers and would especially like to award fellowships to those with limited past access to writing resources and supportive communities. Every single queer PoC I know that has left their homophobic or unsupportive racial community to find a far less pigmented queer community had the hope that their combined racial/queer experience would be a bridge. It so rarely is. Often, it becomes "go away, you're a reminder of my privilege."

Many white queers don't do this, but also don't recognize that what they're experiencing isn't "they hate me specifically" nearly as much as it is "i'm starting to be treated like I'm colored". It shows how little you know about our experiences and the propaganda around our racial identities.

Queerness does not uphold the social contract of whiteness. We know this because it was culturally targeted and heavily suppressed RACIALLY. Queerness, as viewed by whiteness, dips into the racially dehumanized identity of non-whiteness. That's why they'll accept racist white gay conservatives.
