Found myself wondering what I would do with all this wool I'm spinning, and for some reason it only occurred to me today to search for silk roving. I can spin to laceweight, so the idea of spinning my own needlework thread and floss appeals. Yep, I found all the silk roving. Result!

Goodness me, Etsy really is a minefield now...I think I've had enough of trying to navigate the AI slop and ripped off designs or straight up scams to try and find a deal on haberdashery or fabric. But it's a good dose of reality, even so - find one or two trusted fabric shops and be loyal4lyfe.

Problems with lawnmower yesterday and hubs was surprised instead of working on it, I put it away. I was taught not to work on machinery frustrated. "If the machine gods aren't amenable, put it away for a bit or lose some fingers in sacrifice." I'm not sure who taught me that, but it's my policy.

I have learned this week: sewing is not a good distraction for pain. At all. At least, not for me, which is a pity. However, that's mostly due to being out of my pain meds and shipping held up. For now I have to put the mending pile and the practice kits to one side. This, too, shall pass.

I grew up in a family that was actively under surveillance and had security concerns because of the organizing work my parents and grandparents did. I am begging parents of children under 18 to be thoughtful about their children's privacy with respect to social media, journalism, &etc
