And for the really bad news? They've put a target on VPNs. Sites are required to identify (and age-verify) any US citizen, regardless of whether they're using a VPN. In fact, the default is to get the ID and biometrics of EVERYONE unless you can somehow prove their not a US citizen.

conforming to the genre is *more central* to the performance than *answering the specific question,* which may diverge from the expected genre. the genre of "radiologist analyzing an x-ray" does not usually contain "there is no available file to analyze" thus that answer is not typically available.

hello hi yes so this makes sense when you understand that the sucess condition for an LLM is the production of a text-base, genre-bound performance of a plausible and acceptable answer to a given question. the question defines the expected genre.

what jumps out at me in this paper is the idea that "mirage" reasoning is attached to an internal (and incorrect) "epistemic frame." i think this analysis is misguided. what the LLM is doing shouldnt be understood as an "incorrect judgement." it should be understood as *commitment to the bit*.
