Disappointing to see obvious racism/dog whistling in the Lord of the Rings fandom during #HobbitDay week/anniversary celebrations. If you dislike choices made by ROP and claim their cast is wrong compared to “proper” hobbits (because of lore accuracy you don’t understand) you’re not welcome here! 👍

Celebrated Hobbit Day with a very autumnal and cozy 7 km walk in the perfect, mild weather. 🍂🍵✨️

Beautiful colourful autumnal trees next to a river.

A path in the forest, with plenty of orange fallen leaves. The sun is shining through branches, casting shadows on the path.

A round metal garden gazebo covered in climbing vines and other foliage, situated in an autumnal garden with fallen leaves on the ground and yellow trees further behind.

A traditional yellow wooden building with a red tiled roof. Colourful flowers in pots decorate the front yard, and a long wooden ladder rests against the house.

Cinnamon buns/rolls are far too sweet with the icing. Enough is enough. We don't need to put a layer of extra sugar on everything. I know best because cinnamon buns originate from the Nordics (and Germany, where I have also had them).

a couple bits from the Empire article about TROP s3 that i haven't seen mentioned as much: - sauron's 'erosion' showing his inner self - forcing men to fight for rings in mordor - galadriel is 100% having weird dreams about stupid sexy sauron (and nightmares of death & destruction, etc)

complete with black gauntlets. "I don't think he necessarily has chosen to look like this," Vickers tells Empire later, cooling off in the make-up chair. "It's more like his old form has eroded away, and revealed this darkness within him.
Hence the darker hair, and the darker clothes." He grins from under his chainmail. "It's sweaty work. But it is Mordor."

Three weeks after Empire's first visit, we return to Barad-dûr, to find Sauron now doling out rings.
These are the "Nine for mortal men doomed to die", as Tolkien's rhyme had it. And Sauron is playing
a grisly game to determine who gets one. "The rings of power are a precious gift," he snarls to a line-up of armoured men, gesturing to the shiny bands smartly displayed in a velvet display box.
• "Mordor can share but one." He throws a sword onto the floor. So this is how it will be decided: a fight to the death. Later, we watch a scene where he crowns the winner. It's time to meet the Nazgûl. The Ringwraiths.

it, Galadriel is now a longtime ring-bearer, grappling with the gift of foresight - along with the accompanying burden - that her ring Nenya brings her. "It seemed to me that these Elves have just such intense, intrusive thoughts, constantly, about what's going to happen," says Clark. "She's having an absolutely crazy time in her mind. So that's quite fun to play. I feel like she is kind of alone in the way that her mind and the ring and Sauron affect her."
