Disciplined Duelist - for Magic: The Gathering's Streets of New Capenna AD: Sarah Wassell The first painting I completed for Magic and still one of my favourites.
A man strides across a dimly lit hallway, brandishing magical gauntlets. He rolls up a sleeve in anticipation of a fight to come. The shapes of the composition are angular and art-deco-inspired.

The image is of a four panel comic.
The first panel shows Sarah, the protagonist, working at a desk. A brain next to her says, "We need to take breaks!"
The second panel zooms in on Sarah's face. She is annoyed. She says, "What if I don't listen to you?"
The third panel shows the brain smiling.
The fourth panel shows the brain reaching towards a lever. The brain says, "I'LL MAKE YOU."

Guy 1 looks off to the side and asks, “is someone in the window?” Panel 2: a creepy ghost woman stands in the upstairs window of a house, watching them. Panel 3: Guy 2 calls up to the creepy ghost, “you wanna hoop?” Panel 4: the ghost is outside playing basketball with them. She bricks a shot from the free throw line. Guy 2 says, “that’s H-O-R.”

Wide shot of the BRITISH MUSEUM. There are suggestions of fascism around the streets - tanks, barricades, an Orwellian 'Big Brother'-style poster on a wall. A voice of a TOUR GUIDE emanates from the museum:

TOUR GUIDE:
So the Tapestry tells acrucial chapter of our nation's history...

2
[Cut to interior of museum. A long Bayeaux-style TAPESTRY is on display, and the Tour Guide is speaking to a tour group]

TOUR GUIDE [smiling]:
How modern fascist Britain was created.

3
TOUR GUIDE:
The Tapestry begins here with the 2008 Crash, then austerity, then the AI Crash...

4
TOUR GUIDE:
...and by the end of the room it's just full-on fash.

5
CHILD IN TOUR GROUP [gesturing to the tapestry]:
What's this middle bit?

TOUR GUIDE:
This is the 2026 Battle of Legitimate Concerns

6
TOUR GUIDE:
[show a reporter standing next to the Dover protests]
Here's the media saying the government have got to do something about the legitimate concerns...

7
CHILD:
...About the failure of capitalism?

TOUR GUIDE:
No about brown people on boats

8
CHILD:
[pointing at boats crossing the sea on the tapestry]
Are these boats the mega-dinghies?

TOUR GUIDE:
Not all of them

9
[we see one of the boats is a giant yacht]
TOUR GUIDE:
That one's a superyacht,
carrying money from the American fascists to the British ones.

10
TOUR GUIDE:
You see really it's as much a story of convergence as it is of conflict.

[An alarm sounds in the museum]
DING DING DING DING

11
TOUR GUIDE:
Ok, tour over everyone

12
TOUR GUIDE:
It's time for the Two Minute Hate!

[They all leave the museum]

[ends]

I had to verify this, because it seems mustache-twirlingly over the top. It's real, and it's unfathomable. Also, really stupid: you don't want your sniper roost advertised in advance, let alone concentrated in a single location.

I say this not to be contrarian or cynical, but I have learned that so many hopeful sentiments are rooted in survivorship bias, and do not reflect the reality of those whom society fails. No, I say this for urgency, and encouragement: those that are able, look after one another. Be the one to help.

The performative toxic virility fixations is disturbing. Absolutely insistent and their bizarre concept of "real men", without regard for the hard-won history and understanding of modern warfare calls for. These are disgraceful, unserious people who undermine the competence of others at every turn.

T-Rex: Sherlock Holmes, who was the world's greatest detective but complete rubbish at baking, sighed.

T-Rex: His latest cake was, once again, complete rubbish!T-Rex: He was BEYOND frustrated. He'd TRIED using his detective skills to deduce why his cakes sucked so bad, but even so, they only ever told him why THIS cake sucked (he accidentally used a cup of baking soda instead of a teaspoon) and not why the NEXT cake would suck.
Dromiceiomimus: They always sucked for a completely new reason?
T-Rex: They ALWAYS sucked for a completely NEW reason!!
Utahraptor: Surely at some point he'd run out of new ways to ruin cakes?
T-Rex: You'd think!

T-Rex: "But sadly there are SO MANY WAYS to ruin a cake," Sherlock sighed, as he put his batter into the oven on the top rack instead of the centre one, which would, 40 minutes later, burn the cake's top while leaving the bottom underdone.
Utahraptor: Sherlock, no!!
T-Rex: He can't hear you! He's fictional!!
T-Rex: And he's having the WORST DAY of his FICTIONAL LIFE - and to make matters EVEN WORSE, the WHOLE WORLD is going to hear about it, because I'm writing it down and publishing it all!!
Off panel: Nooooooo

Four panels. A boy in a blue tee ponders, the. pins red fabric on the walls. Third panel, he is drawing monsters on cardboard cutouts. There are unpainted cutouts of flames and more monsters.

In the fourth panel he is rocking on the ground in fear of the janky drawings he made.

VOTERS: VoteSafe.org is not a government website like Vote.gov. It asks for personal information including your name, date of birth, address, email and phone number. It is operated by America PAC, Elon Musk’s political organization and raises concerns about how voter information is collected.
Votesafe.org is run by America PAC, Elon Musk's super PAC.
It is not a government website. It checks your registration against America PAC's own private voter list, not your state's records, so it can tell you that you are registered when your county says you are not.
