This is not a defense of slop, slop is bad even when made by a human. However, to say human made slop and ai made slop are “kinda the same thing” feels to me like a misunderstanding on some level of what the act of creation necessarily requires. They’re both bad but they are not interchangeable

People often say that trope-y and formulaic art may as well be written by ai because “it’s just as bad” but i think human creators can’t help but put some of themselves into their. Formulaic slop films from the 2000s still FEEL of that era, all of those trenchcoats came from subjective appeal
