Only Jeffrey Archer thing of note I have to say is that his very fancy penthouse apartment at Peninsula Heights, Vauxhall (then owned by Stanley Baker) was used in Theatre of Blood (1973). Which is a great film I’m going to have to watch again now!

40th Anniversary screening of Transformers: The Movie. Assumed it would be just the dorks going but it was (except me) dorks WITH their kids. I saw at least three Dads excitedly turn to their kids when Orson Welles’ name appeared in the opening credits, think about saying something, then not bother.

People enjoy many games/sports where machines are vastly better

There are more possible chess games, by about 40 orders of magnitude, than atoms in the observable universe. To solve chess, you'd have to map them all. Good luck.

Wrong, all legal chess positions are ~40 oom less than the estimated atoms in the Universe. And ASI will figure out ways to solve and compress that are far beyond what we could possibly comprehend.

Truffaut’s La Nuit Américaine/ Day For Night (1973) screened tonight at the Ciné Lumière in honour of the late Nathalie Baye, who gets to deliver one of the best lines of the film. Glad to say it’s still utterly brilliant and firmly remains one of my favourites!
