I can’t believe we’re back to medieval level conflicts like “local merchant princes attempt to bribe theologians and the Pope’s advisors so the Pope will issue a favorable proclaimation”

I've heard people make claims that AI would lead to a new Renaissance, but I didn't imagine it'd happen like this:
Screenshot of a Tweet from Pope Leo XIV. It reads:

"In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgen to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity."

We should treat genAI in publishing the way you’d treat a vampire trying to enter your home. You never give it permission to enter. It doesn’t matter if it‘s polite or makes generous offers or it’s *only* going to take the ones *you* don’t care about. It’s here for your blood. Don’t let it in.

google is just completely broken now
Google search for "control resonant those meows means he's on the creatures trail"

AIO "answer": The phrase "control resonant those meows means he's on the creatures trail" appears to be an anagram.

When you rearrange the letters of those exact words, they unscramble to reveal a famous quote from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in WonderlandThe phrase "control resonant those meows means he's on the creatures trail" appears to be an anagram.

When you rearrange the letters of those exact words, they unscramble to reveal a famous quote from Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

"Curtsey while you're thinking what to say. It saves time."

How it breaks down:

Original letters: c-o-n-t-r-o-l-r-e-s-o-n-a-n-t-t-h-o-s-e-m-e-o-w-s-m-e-a-n-s-h-e- -o-n-t-h-e-c-r-e-a-t-u-r-e-s-t-r-a-i-l

Anagram letters: c-u-r-t-s-e-y-w-h-i-1-e- y-o-u-r-e-t-h-i-n-k-i-n-g-w-h-a-t-t-o-s-a-y-i-t-s-a-v-e-s-t-i-m-e

The original quote is spoken by the Red Queen (in Through the Looking-Glass) or associated with the general nonsense logic of Wonderland!

Are you solving a specific word puzzle or riddle challenge, and would you like help decoding any other phrases?

The cluelessness of this reminds me a lot of the NFT grift. The thing about NFTs was that it was mainly something finance bros were into, and when they were trying to worm their way into gaming, their pitches were an abyssal trench of bad ideas because they couldn't grasp why people played games.

The heads of the enemies resemble whips or serpents. A statue of a figure stands to the left of the path, and a flaming torch is to the right. The top of the screen displays game information including score, time, and stage number.

When someone arrives in my office on a job interview loop, I ask them if they need to use the restroom or need a drink. Sometimes I walk with them to go get tea or coffee. Sometimes they have their own already. I do this because I’m a normal human being and want normal human beings to feel welcome.

I have actively turned people away from AI by asking it to generate information on something they know. Like a handyman realizes immediately that AI is useless when it cannot distinguish between a hammer and a nail. I see how that does not work with someone who cannot produce their own phone number.

"AI" will make us dumber and they don't care because it will make us dependable on it (and therefore it will make them richer) It says a lot about what they think about us that they show their cards in the open like this. They think we can't do anything about them. We can still prove them wrong.

So Control Resonant required a 90GB download as a preload and to launch for the first time it needs to download a 90GB day one patch. I had accepted that the Golden Age of the Internet was long over, but we truly are in the middle of the Stupid Age.
