The best part of being an artist is that you can just draw whatever dumb idea comes to your head at 1am
A scene parodying the Neon Genesis Evangelion scene of Asuka and her Eva unit getting pierced by the spear of longinus. In this scene, Linguini and Remy from Pixar's Ratatouille take the place of the EVA unit and Asuka respectively. Linguinis eye is pierced by a fork version of the spear and Remy is depicted in an inset where he is grabbing his eye and screaming like the anime. There are anime subtitles at the bottom that say "AHHHHHHHHH!"

Opening narration from the 1998 film Dark City. "Dr. Schreber: [voiceover] First there was darkness. Then came the strangers. They were a race as old as time itself. They had mastered the ultimate technology. The ability to alter physical reality by will alone. They called this ability "Tuning". But they were dying. Their civilization was in decline, and so they abandoned their world seeking a cure for their own mortality. Their endless journey brought them to a small, blue world in the farthest corner of the galaxy. Our world. Here they thought they had finally found what they had been searching for."

an illustration of the character Ayumu Kasuga (aka Osaka) from Azumanga Daioh. she is depicted from the hips upwards and is wearing her default school uniform. she has her hands up to her face and is pointing her index fingers towards her cheeks while smiling happily at the viewer.

I appreciate how people are conducting themselves here
First screenshot is a skeet by user HK: "Out on a run and came across a couple having a break up. The woman yelled that the guy cared more about “his YouTube videos” than her. Fully expected it to be some Andrew Tate shit until he sheepishly said “trains mean so much to me but you’ve never understood that”

Second screenshot is of the reply thread. Comments include:

So sad when a relationship hits the buffers
sometimes things just go off the rails
Decoupling is the right choice here

Nap Comix #365 This song makes me tap my toes. #napcomix
Panel 1)
Rachael and Henry are hanging out together listening to music. Henry is drawing.
Caption: I put on a 'They Might Be Giants (for kids)' playlist. We love it.
Speaker: The potato chips, That you took from the bag, And gave to the dog, To deliver to the mouse, So the mouse would not eat yoooo-oooo-oooouuuuu

Panel 2)
Caption: It was on for a while though and after a bit they played a song that wasn't technically 'for kids' (but was still awesome).
Speaker: I'm your only friend, I'm not your only friend, But I'm a little glowing friend, But really I'm not actually your friend, But I am...
Henry: Mummy what is this song?

Panel 3)
Rachael: Oh! It's called 'Birdhouse In Your Soul'. Henry, this is actually one of mummy's favourite songs ever!
Henry: Oh!

Panel 4)
They both listen for a little bit.
Speaker: Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch Who watches over you Make a little birdhouse in your soul Not to put too fine a point on it: Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet Make a little birdhouse in your soul...

Panel 5)
Henry: Mummy? This song is one of my favourites too.

Panel 6)
Rachael and Henry hug while they listen to the song.

End of June (1/5) This comic is also available to read on Webtoon: www.webtoons.com/en/canvas/na...
At the end of June I had a miscarriage.Of course I wanted to make a comic about it. Because comics are how I work through my emotions and make sense of the world around me.But when I thought about what I had just been through. The heart-sinking look the nurse gave me before showing me the scan of my womb, the crying in various hospital waiting rooms, the horrendous examinations, the blood, the impossible choices of what to do with the remains...I just thought...I don't want to draw any of that.

Journal comics- escapism failed aka an excuse to draw ps1 graphics
Panel 1: character reclines on a bed while holding a switch 1 console saying, “ah time to sit and play one of my childhood faves! Let’s relax and forget our worries for a little bit~”

Panel 2: a ps1 Cloud sprite faces away with a large sword on his back saying, “corporations are destroying our planet, valuing profit over lives and morals. Every day is a struggle to hope and fight back.”

Panel 3: the character from panel 1 stares down at the screen with a tear falling down their cheek with a blank smile saying, “oh dear”
