Disability support policy is a giant test of the principle “Innocent Until Proven Guilty”. Systems that gatekeep disability benefits to prevent supposed grifting are betraying that principle by deciding it’s worth making many innocents struggle & starve to stop a few bad actors. Same with welfare.

Agree. I lived in NYC at the time. So many little corner shops run by Indians and Pakistanis nearly went out of business because non-immigrants judged the shopkeepers by their skin color and labeled them all “enemies”. The great unity people keep talking about was not so all-inclusive as they claim.

I was living overseas at the tim, and came back the year after to visit family. I was shocked and very disturbed at the 'unity' I saw emerging - it felt brittle, vicious, and intolerant of any dissent. And I felt this way as a white native-born American. I can't imagine how it felt to brown folk.
