this was reported at the time. this was not secret. israel were very publicly refusing to bring their "hostages" home for over a year because slaughtering Palestinians was their stated intent.

Qatar has said Hamas told Israel they would give them all the hostages on October 8th in return for no invasion. Israel refused, 38 more of the Israeli Hostages died, killed by Israel's own actions. They could all have lived.

It's really easy to be like "suicide? Sure jan" in situations like this, but as the guy himself is quoted, being a whistleblower came at considerable cost to himself and his family. We often ask why courage is so rare and it's because it's often very expensive, financially and emotionally.
