Gotta drop a few thoughts on this one, because I think it touches on a big problem on data centre discourse but in a sort of accidental way. (It's an interesting listen w/ lots to agree with and obviously in done in good faith so please don't take these thoughts as a big dunk or anything)

I honestly think the way to grab the left edge of the Overton window and pull it to a more reasonable place is for politicians to not only take positions like this and then insist that they are a moderate and these are moderate positions. Say it over and over until the media parrots it.

Yo! Time to protect our Muslim neighbors, again. The rhetoric coming from DC is sick; and dangerous. So. Let's show up--every Friday, 12-230. Scan the code, go to the bitly, protect, eat, vote. Together. (And if you're in NE and wanna be with me up on Lowry, let's do it!)
purple flyer:
MN's Love Our Neighbors. We stand together
We Vote Together
In response to the dangerous rhetoric from federal officials, Minnesotans are gathering outside local mosques during Friday prayer to show support and look out for our neighbors. After prayer, Minnesotans will enjoy tea and sambusas, then go together to the polls to vote.

1. Visit your local mosque during Friday prayers to stand in support of our Muslim neighbors. Register to let us know you're coming.

2. Bring a vest, whistle and a sign.

3. After Friday prayers, join others planning to vote by going to the polls together. Rides will be available.

Friday, Oct 16th, 23rd & 30th
12 pm -2:30 pm

Register in advance @ bit.ly/NeighborsVoteMN

there is a QR code on the flyer to the right of the time & date.

There is also the image of a red 'I voted' sticker'

Senate District 60 DFL @sd60dfl.bsky.social · 12/10/2026
SD60 DFL unequivocally stands in solidarity with our Congresswoman Ilhan Omar. Please read our statement here: drive.google.com/file/d/1FU1n...
This morning, Monday, October 12, 2026, federal agents raided the home of our Congresswoman, Ilhan Omar.

SD60 DFL unequivocally stands in solidarity with our Congresswoman Ilhan Omar and all our Somali neighbors.

Over the last year, Donald Trump has repeatedly attacked Somali Americans and the state of Minnesota. This raid on Rep. Omar’s home follows his attacks on Somali Americans last week and is an escalation of a decade-long campaign of attacks against Congresswoman Omar personally. Donald Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric has contributed to death threats and violence in our state.

It is no coincidence that this raid comes three weeks before an election where Rep. Omar is on the ballot. As he has done many times before, Trump has weaponized the Justice Department to target his political opponents.

No president or administration should use government agencies to target political dissenters. To target a political enemy with violent force for no crime, with even a modicum of substantiation, is a blatant violation of the basic principles of democracy and American governance. It is also a direct attack against not just Rep. Omar, but every single citizen she represents in Congress, and the American people as a whole.

Impeachment is allowed for treason, bribery and/or “high crimes and misdemeanors.” These were described by Alexander Hamilton in Federalist Paper 65: “The subjects of [impeachment] are those offenses which proceed from the misconduct of public men, or, in other words, from the abuse or violation of some public trust.” In addition, 18 U.S. Code § 241 states that if two or more people conspire to injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate any person in the U.S. in the free exercise or enjoyment of any right protected by the Constitution or U.S. law, or because of having previously used those rights, they can be subject to up to 10 years in prison.

As such, we firmly believe that these actions constitute grounds for impeachment of multiple individuals. As such, we firmly believe that these actions constitute grounds for impeachment of multiple individuals.

SD60 DFL calls for the impeachment and conviction of, for high crimes and misdemeanors related to 18 USC § 241, President Donald Trump, Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin, Acting Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement David Venturella, Acting Executive Associate Director of Homeland Security Investigations John A. Condon, and any other individuals involved in this targeted attack.

Rep. Omar is a tireless champion of our district, our state, and the values on which our country rests. SD60 DFL expresses our full support for Congresswoman Omar against ongoing political intimidation and abuse of power. We stand with Rep. Omar as she continues to advocate boldly for her constituents and defend constitutional rights.

In each case, we are not simply dealing with delays or side effects in technological progress, but hype as a vast, systematic wastage that takes from society’s finite funding, resources, and opportunities and leaves behind invisible costs and burdens.

Hype is eating the future, and leaving us the bones.

heads up twin cities — we are seeing a spike in ICU admissions for medetomidine withdrawal; at least 4-5 in the past week for minnesotans, if you use drugs at any rate, please consider getting medetomidine testing strips (which you can get for free here steverummlerhopenetwork.org/test-strips/)
Medetomidine
WTHORAM
Symptoms to look out for:
Fast heart rate (>100 beats per minute)
Dangerously high blood pressure (>180/100)
Uncontrollable nausea and vomiting
Tremors
Excessive sweating
Changing levels of alertness
Severe anxiety
If you or someone you know is experiencing these severe withdrawal symptoms it is highly encouraged to seek hospitalization. Medetomidine withdrawal often requires intensive care in a hospital setting to manage the uncomfortable and potentially life threatening symptoms.

screenshot of 10/7 TNR article by Ellie Quinlan Houghtaling: Nearly 1,000 armed guards have descended on the United States Postal Service, deploying to at least 55 facilities across the country ahead of Election Day.

The security officers were contracted through multinational private security company Prosegur, according to a Raw Story investigation.

Prosegur has a history of alleged human rights violations, including an incident as recent as 2024 in which the company’s Brazilian subsidiary reportedly prevented indigenous people from accessing food and medical care at a nearby town, per an assessment by the Ethics Council of the Norwegian Government Pension Fund.

Prosegur’s guards are currently located at USPS facilities in Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Indianapolis, Phoenix, San Diego, and Tampa, according to internal memos obtained by Raw Story.
