New preprint from our group disentangling stochasticity, cell-to-cell heterogeneity and interaction history in cytotoxic immune cells. Finding structure in the noise allows us to identify differences in the mechanisms of action of different antibody treatments. doi.org/10.64898/202...

Let there be multifunctionality: Uncovering the dynamical zoo of the AC-DC genetic circuit
Small gene regulatory circuits can encode a surprising diversity of dynamical behaviors. A biophysical model of the AC-DC motif reveals over thirty distinct bifurcation structures and shows how molecu...

Dynamic Landscape Analysis of cell fate decisions provides predictive models of neural development from single-cell data
Applying dynamical systems theory to single-cell data can provide a detailed picture of the cellular states observed during cell fate decisions. This study presents a dynamic landscape analysis (DLA) ...

Our new review is out! Small gene regulatory networks keep on revealing principles of cell-fate decisions. Circuit behaviour is far richer than topology-centric views, highlighting the need to consider specific molecular implementations. @mathsmaret.bsky.social www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

We wrote this introductory review on how concepts from dynamical systems can help us understand developmental biology, hope it’s useful to somebody! It was a lot of fun to put together, and great to collaborate with brilliant colleagues across theory and experiments

Another day, another funky gene regulatory network behaviour! In our latest paper, we show how the mushroom bifurcation can encode an ultra-long biochemical timer. Even more interestingly, extrinsic noise can be used to improve timing precision! 🤯 @mathsmaret.bsky.social @josepsardanyes.bsky.social
