buildings are mostly mud-brick. in the capital, it's covered in lime so it's white. the style of architecture looks a lot like Fes in Morocco. Simple but distinct. but really, REALLY white, like Santorini. The white helps keep the heat out. It's a very hot country year round.

absolutely!! it's around 87k and written in all lowercase except for a few choice words for the poetic effect. the trigger list is a mile long, as it has a lot of dark themes - most of them related to mental health. i can def provide a list if needed :) here's the "back of book" summary!

everyone wants something. some people want money, others fame, many want safety or the promise of love.

ellis abberle wants to die.

when they find God in an abandoned building on the edge of town, He offers them a deal. a sacrificed life for a willing death.

ellis is wary, but can you really say no to God?

enter God's so-called lackey: an insufferable, immortal man named ashley, who claims he can help. ellis doesn't trust him, but they know they can't get away with murder on their own.

it was never the plan to fall in love with him.

when things turn south, as they always do, ellis finds themself willing to throw away everything they've ever wanted just for a chance to stay.

but they can't escape the all-powerful being holding their strings for very long, and ashley and ellis soon realize there may be no way to save each other from the web that fate has spun.
