England is a made up thing. It has no basis in the ineluctable laws of nature. Its extent is defined by Edward II getting his arse handed to him. Athelstan conquering York. The Welsh of Cumbria were incorporated, the Welsh of Gwynedd were not. It is a political idea, an aspiration - not taxonomy.

This is great. But please stop confusing e-bikes with electric motor bikes. Every time you do this you simply give ammunition to the anti-cycling brigade and undermine your own efforts to support sustainable travel in London

100%. But also: why should the fact that there are some things it is difficult/not possible to do by bike stand in the way of providing the infrastructure for all the things you CAN do by bike?

The rush to speculate that asylum seekers are responsible for every crime in the news is a sort of opportunistic informational terrorism. Until it’s disproved it stokes fear and hatred. When it is disproved there are no adverse consequences and they know that they only have to be lucky once.

Liar. Small boat crossings peaked under Johnson in 2022 reaching 46,000 in 2022. In current year they are 18,565 and falling. Also prior to Boris Johnson's Brexit there were none.
It's a disaster, and it can all be traced to
Labour ideology. Burnham has no mandate
from the people. He has no real ideas, and
no plan,

The WAR ON WALKING has taken many forms around the world. It’s often as simple as how we signal who space is and isn’t for. Once our eyes are opened to all the ways we’ve prioritized cars over people, we can’t unsee it. Frustrating photo contributed by @stadsplanering.bsky.social. #WarOnWalking
Background photo from North Macedonia, where “sidewalks are mostly used to park cars” as explained by photo contributor Carl-Henrik Barnekow. Text says “Don’t buy the lie that there’s a war on cars. They’ve been waging a war on walking for a century.” Via the Urban Truth Collective. #WarOnCars #UrbanTruth

Any lives lost due to this closure should be laid firmly at the feet of the far-right agitators who caused this. The way in which anti-asylum activists are putting more and more people at risk should be a wake up call that it is time to genuinely combat them, rather than pandering to their ideology.

I've never tried this myself, but have recently responded to a pre-action letter clearly drafted by or with help from AI, citing two "authorities", one of which didn't exist, the other of which only existed under a different reference and wasn't even about the issue for which it had been cited.

Reform UKs plan to use the Royal Navy to intercept migrant boats in the Channel brilliantly taken apart by ... er ... Nigel Farage
The new Royal Navy presence in the Channel off to
a terrible start...

The gunwhales on the vessels are too high to pick
up migrants, so the RNLI & Border Force are doing
the job instead!

The Navy are then going around picking up the
empty dinghies,

Waste of time and resources!
