Sad to here that @mikeldimmick.bsky.social passed away this week. Meeting him in my early twenties helped define my musical taste. He taught me that no matter the genre, the music just needs to be good. Here is an early album by him when it was still called the Mikel Dimmick Spiral Joy Band.

When ever I hear anyone mention David Hockney.

From an interview I did re. publishing/art organizing: I think a lot of people assume they won’t be taken seriously if they do something that isn’t at the invitation of an institution. But we create our own authority for our projects based on the level of seriousness that goes into them.
