Of everything that happened in MLB today I think the least predictable was the Padres only scoring off of Misiorowski.

Some really weird shit from the guy from Cloudflare (which I had never heard of before) on the Decoder podcast. He thinks the new "winners" in music will be artists who write songs based on "unfulfilled Spotify queries." Because that's why people get into making music, right?

Bringing in a possible Cy Young winner to close out a four run lead is quite a choice. I think all managers are insanely terrified of their bullpens at this point and I can’t say I blame them.

Good Experimental Music: September 2026

This time around we have turntables made of stone, scores from installations, drones that are unafraid to be dramatic, and horns playing with themselves.

Dbacks gave it a run, roster was pretty weak all year IMO so getting it to the final day is kind of impressive. Looks like at least Gabriel Moreno won the batting title, and the Nolan Arenado comeback was great to see.

There's something hilarious/infuriating about the fact that in a year where the Astros are not at all good, they're still gonna win the AL West. (Also among the many things I seem to have blocked out from COVID Year One is that the A's won the division).

Phillies are handing the last wildcard spot to the D-backs and the D-backs are saying nah you keep it. Though the Rays and Padres are also superior teams so there’s that.

To avoid elimination, D-backs needed to win & have Cubs/Padres/Phillies not all win. D-backs won, Cubs won, Padres won, Phillies lost. So Phillies are up by 2 for final spot w/3 to play & D-backs holding the tie breaker. D-backs play 3 at SD, Phillies host Rays for 3. Let's go!

MLB needs to get off this division-centric bullshit. The current playoff scenario has 3 AL teams on one side of the bracket who all have better records than the 3 AL teams on the other side. All because of these vaunted "divisions" in which the teams play each other...13 times.
