July's being called "Disability Pride Month", which is neat. As a cerebral palsy patient and epileptic, I want to take a beat to remind people of something important that we seem to be forgetting: Anybody who uses terms like "r*tard" does in fact deserve a slow demise alone at the bottom of a ditch.

I’m excited to be able to share this news with you all. I’ve been commissioned by University of Nebraska State Museum to illustrate a book telling the story of Archie - the famous (and largest) Columbian mammoth. (1/4)
An illustration of a large Columbian mammoth (close relative of the more wooly variety!) splashing through a stream against the backdrop of a stormy sky.

Some may remember Cosmo, my beloved parrot, who I lost in 2024, and this superhero design in his honor, brought to life by @stickasaurus.bsky.social. I finally got around to editing some nice photos of the finished design, based on the 1991 series 𝘊𝘩𝘰𝘫𝘪𝘯 𝘚𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪 𝘑𝘦𝘵𝘮𝘢𝘯. The result is pretty cool!

One hopes images like this, when paired with the knowledge that everything we burn ends up in that tiny slice of gasses, would help contextualize why we need to move away from energy sources we set on fire. One hopes. Climate communicators should make some hay of this.

Pigeon milk.
A six panel comic. In panel 1, a banner says "Pigeons make milk" and a smaller banner says "A fact you didn't need to know". A pigeon stands looking at the reader next to a carton of milk. In panel 2, the text says "Like mammals, pigeons feed milk to their babies. Both male and female pigeons produce it." Two pigeons sit next to their pink and gray babies, all looking happy, and one of the parents says, "Teamwork." In panel 3, the text says "Pigeons don't have nipples. They make milk in a part of their esophagus and regurgitate it." Two pigeons stand next to each other, one with a cow udder and one with a line of nipples down its chest, with red X's next to them. In panel 3, the text says "Amazingly, it evolved independently from mammal milk but it's triggered by the same hormone, prolactin." A black and white dairy cow looks down at a pigeon, who says "We're not so different, you and I." In panel 5, the text says "Like our milk, it has fats, proteins, immune-supporting substances, and more." A cow foot and a pigeon wing are shown high-fiving, and text says "milk high five". In panel 6, the text says "However, it's very chunky, so don't trust any pigeon to make you a good latte." A white coffee cup steaming with a latte inside is shown with the contents censored, and a pigeon leans into the frame looking proud of itself.

Art doesn’t take talent. It’s skill. Skill that you cultivate and shape how best suits you. You want to make photorealistic fine art? Yeah that will take time and work to achieve. But you’re also an artist when you doodle, when you sketch, when you make bad art that doesn’t meet your expectations.

Guess I'll post this again
A digital poster in the style of a World War II propaganda piece. Isolaed on a yellow background, a normal, squarish, 20-something guy with glasses is sitting working on a laptop. A ghostly figure of Hitler has his arm around the guy and is grinning and shaking a fist triumphantly looking at the laptop screen. On the lid of the laptop where an apple might otherwise be is an openAI logo, bright green, and dripping green ooze down the lid. Text on the poster, in combinations of sans-serif type and brush script reads:
Using Generative AI?
You’re prompting with Hitler!
GenAI is a Fascist Project!
Try using your brain instead
Don’t surrender your creativity to the tech billionaire’s control
