I did a tiny bit of trinket trading at the faire. Quite a few of my little watercolors are left so I'll do more trinket trading in the future with friends or randomly.
After the Spokane Renaissance Faire when I emptied out my bag. At left is my ziploc bag of handmade watercolors that I painted. There is small prints, business cards, plastic coins, my partner's extra ring, a cat shaped paperclip, the smallest whale toy I've ever seen, and the One Wish Willow I bought. A character tent with a guy who I don't know wearing dragon wings on the left, a dragon behind, me in the middle and my partner on the right.

We had a really nice time at HoneySpell Cafe's Journaling Night on the North side of Spokane tonight. I don't really know how to journal so I sketched a bit and gifted a couple of my little watercolors after I cut them out. It's so pretty in there and my mocha was good!
Collage of 3 photos taken at the café. On the left is my T. rex skull with sunflowers watercolor that my friend picked out as her gift from me in a little gift bag with trinkets that she purchased from the café. At the top right is the Trinket Trading Tree where people take and leave trinkets with one of my little watercolor sunflowers with an iris and pupil at the center left for someone to take. And at the bottom right has my friend sorting through my watercolors after I cut them out of the watercolor page they were on with a coffee on the table and the wall decorations visible. I was careful to not take pictures of other people but there were about 5-10 people in the shop.My watercolors partially cut free and my sketch page on the right with my attempt at journaling reading, "Honeyspell Cafe 10-1-26. Ordered mocha with oat milk and noticed the lights don't align with the ceiling tiles. I don't think I know how to journal and writing is hard."

Our friend had 100 pounds of potatoes sent to us yesterday for some reason. My cat Zuko for scale, but he's honestly so big that it makes the potatoes seem less ridiculous. Potato recipes are welcome lol
Medium hair brown tabby cat bunched up onto the top lump of a 50 pound bag of potatoes that is itself lumped onto another 50 pound bag of potatoes on our kitchen table.

Comparison of similar non-avian dinosaur and bird art 15 years apart. #paleoart
Ink and watercolor sketches from 2011 at top and a 4 piece ink and watercolor from last night 2026. At top is an Oviraptor and a cassowary. On bottom at left is the head of a hen and at right the head of a very polite looking green Allosaurus. Then below is a hen in the snow facing inward and at right a Velociraptor facing inward with feathers the color of snow.

I wanted to paint a bunch of little watercolor sunflowers, but I lost focus and ended up with mostly dinosaurs. I plan to gift them to people at the Spokane Renaissance Faire. #TraditionalArt #Paleoart
Pile of mixed media watercolor / ink / marker sketches on watercolor paper that will need to be cut out from the paper sheets later on. Sunflowers until I couldn't focus on sunflowers anymore then they become tyrannosaurs, a mantis, and a cat. A column of pink sunflowers with iris and pupil in the center and then 4 different Dilophosaurus sketches. Chickens on left, Allosaurus and Velociraptor at center, then a column of various bugs based on photos I've taken.

Sketched sunflowers and then took a walk for my (mental and physical) health today.
Mixed media traditional art sketch of two volunteer sunflowers and a small clump of corn I planted in a makeshift raised garden bed in along my driveway looking toward the back of my house. Sketched on gray sketchbook paper and being held in front of the scene it's based on with a deep blue sky.View toward the freeway from the Spokane River Centennial Trail showing a row of trees turning red in front of the mountains in the background with a bright blue sky with wispy sparse clouds at the top of the frame and a black fence in the foreground.

Bertram's paleontologist dad Doc Philips dossier commissioned by David Glenn from Taliesaurus' fan adaptation of the first Dinoverse novel. #Paleontologist #Dinoverse #Taliesaurus #DinoverseFanArt
Update to a sketch commission from last year to make it a full dossier. In the center is Doc Philips with a dull blue glow behind him resting his palms on a shovel with other tools silhouetted in the margins beside him. Along the edges are vignettes showing him excavating a fossil with his son Bertram, a flashback to a fun time when Bertram was younger playing piggyback in a park, sitting at the kitchen table together, Doc giving a lecture on the giant T. rex he found, and finally him presenting the giant T. rex skeleton mounted in a museum.

I think these are my favorite two photos from our Ren Faire outfit dry run / photoshoot today. Could not get our ducks in a row.
Photo of me bending down with arms outstretched with my muscovy duck hens and bourbon red turkey hen running away at the mere sight of me trying to pick one of them up. The same except my partner is sneaking up on them almost successfully. Nearly.

The disappointment of getting all the way home before realizing they put beef in my fajita veggie tacos (there aren't any fajita veggies either) so they just made double of my partner's order. They even wrote 'veggie' on the top of the container. Curse you, Cafe Rio. Now he gets to eat all of it.

I'm sad about summer ending, as it does every year. We went for a couple of very late in the year swims yesterday to help tide me over till next summer.
Photo my friend took of me in the lake off our other friend's dock. I'm clearly very happy to be in the cold water. View toward the lake at the mouth of the river where we drove afterward and swam a little more. The tiny waves are crashing gently against the muddy sand.

The End of Oak Street Camarasaurus in my style. #TheEndofOakStreet #Camarasaurus #Dinosaur #Sauropod #TheEndofOakStreetFanArt
Sketch of the dinosaur facing right with the tail extending back past the borders of the canvas. It looks mostly like the movie design but in my style along with having shed more of its feathers and the skull shape adheres closer to Dr. Scott Hartman's skeletal diagram of the animal. Drawn by hand in Procreate for iPad using an apple pencil.

Quick "Pterodactylus" from The End of Oak Street fan art in my style. #Pterosaur #TheEndofOakStreet #Pterodactyl #Pterodactylus #Noripterus #TheEndofOakStreetFanArt
Digital sketches drawn by hand in Procreate for iPad using an apple pencil of two distinct pterosaurs in my style interpreting the short-tailed pterosaur in the movie. On the left is Noripterus and on the right is Pterodactylus.

I started this before people knew the short-tailed pterosaur was labeled Pterodactylus in the behind the scenes material. I'm still very resolute that the one in the movie has more features in common with Noripterus (tooth arrangement, body size, and being digitigrade than Pterodactylus. However! Pterodactylus used to be a wastebasket taxon so it's perfect. There was a point when every pterosaur was assigned as a species of Pterodactylus.

Ginger doesn't understand why we won't let her scale the back fence during her walks.
Brown tabby medium hair female cat on a stack of firewood perched atop and crouching like she's about to jump to climb the tall wooden fence separating our yard from the neighbors. She's attached to a black leash that is hooked onto a black harness she's wearing. The leash is not slack to try to prevent her from scaling the fence. She thinks we're wrong and that scaling it would be awesome.

Taxidermied Lockwood Species
Prototype InGen clones to be used for sport hunting purposes?!

Dracorex "dragon king" Lockwood Clone. Possibly a juvenile or canonical InGen clone? JWE2 (soft/headcanon) Possibly an adult or canonical Masrani clone?

Mononykus "one claw" Lockwood Clone. Fan speculation over whether Lockwood's species were true taxidermy or statues still lingers.

Dimetrodon "two measures of tooth" Lockwood Clone. Evidence of InGen's first attempt at cloning non-saurian species, including synapsids, while Manticorp pursued Cenozoic life? Later discarded as imperfect before Biosyn perfected and concealed them in the Dolomites amber mines?! Dominion (2022) Biosyn clone.

Concavenator "Cuenca hunter with a hump" Lockwood Clone. JWE2 (soft / headcanon) Sporting a fossil record-friendly build, this in-game specimen likely fit Masrani's park standards, unlike the latter, seemingly altered under Wu's authority.

Peach has the biggest spurs of any hen I've ever raised. #chickens
Quick phone photo of Peach standing under the mountain ash bush in the damp dirt from overfilling the duck pool with her body turned away from me but keeping an eye on me because she's very wild and skittish compared to all my other chickens. Her father was Hei Hei the presumed game cock that we inherited with the house who may or may not have been rejected from fighting due to being too small but then was also too small for them to eat. Peach is a light buff color with a black tail and yellow feet with spurs about 1.5 inches long.
