Let's be honest here, I mostly post about trains. Well, cities too. I currently work in the Japanese education sector but I'd rather work with trains. I'm a proud Philly expat so expect to see lots of stuff about PA and Pennsylvania too.

the reason why "the left needs a rogan" won't work is that for them to replicate this they need someone who can hold their breath for ten minutes and not screech "Captain Blammo: The Kid Commando is political!"

Great clip of just how hard it is to play QB in the NFL. And a great example of how difficult blitz looks can be to block up, even if the QB nails the protection adjustment. (more details in reply)

the calculus of deep blue elections with a top two run off means the institutionally backed candidate wins like 99% of the time. its very weird to have the progressive challenger actually move to the second round and karen bass et al have no idea how to actually run for office in a competitive race

This is only a win if the US industry is LYING about its methane emissions. And the US is most definitely lying about its massive methane emissions problem. So this is a big win for the liars. The EU now has to lie to themselves about the dirty climate destroying methane they use.

If you deconstruct stories like the Salt Lake City florist petition, here's how it goes: On one side you have riders who want to get to their destination safely. On the other side you have drivers who feel their convenience should take priority. And it's so normalized that they don't even see it!

Someone I've known for a long time got hit while riding and is badly hurt. Everyone who rides a lot knows people who've gone through this (or worse). This is the backdrop to reading stories about drivers who want to rip out a protected bike lane because it's so hard to look both ways. Infuriating.
