“The Winter’s Tale” is an incredibly weird play, but god does Daniel Sullivan find the blazing beauty in it: the rampaging insecurity, the scraped-raw outrage, the soul-deep regret — and lucidity born of not rushing at all. Watching a nearly finished cut of RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK, Marcia told Spielberg he HAD to have a scene at the end showing Indy and Marion together--that the audience needed some emotional closure. Spielberg knew she was right, and went out and shot this scene on the steps of the SF City Hall.
