I think most people have a hard time believing that the USAID/PEPFAR cuts are as bad as they are bc it's impossible to stomach that policymakers would knowingly kill millions. But this is what is happening. PEPFAR supported antiretroviral therapy for 20.6 million people. www.npr.org/sections/goa...

So - I've actually led Ebola outbreak response at USAID. This is bunk from Elon. They have laid off most of the experts, they're bankrupting most of the partner orgs, have withdrawn from WHO, and muzzled CDC. What's left is a fig-leaf effort to cover their asses politically.

Using Actor-Partner Interdependence Modeling, we found that ⬆️caregiver anxiety was significantly associated with⬆️patient depression. This finding of interdependent psychological distress highlights the need to better support BOTH patients and caregivers in cirrhosis care

Among 127 patients with decompensated cirrhosis and their caregivers, over 1 in 4 dyads reported clinically significant depression symptoms and over 1 in 6 reported clinically significant anxiety symptoms. Over 50% of cirrhosis caregivers reported clinically significant anxiety.

This beloved fur gremlin has been in hospital with severe pancreatitis and just came home to us but is so sick and won’t eat 😭 I am so much more comfortable with sick people than a sick and suffering pup. Between that and the election, the world is feeling dark right now. Send Frasier good vibes ❤️
