The second was the true breaking point for me. I could get by with connecting w people outside of IG, but almost every event in my area is exclusively promoted on IG. If I want to know where I can find unique drag shows, specific DJs, theme nights, or whatever else, it's all exclusively on IG.

2. Events and promotions are exclusively promoted on IG. If you want to know what's going on around you, it's all on IG. It's actually insane that getting my IG back introduced me to three new queer bars/ clubs in my area that I never knew about before, but that's what happened.

1. It's the default way to connect w new people you meet. If you meet a cutie at the bar and want to keep in touch, it's IG or bust. Nobody wants to give out their phone number, and other comms channels (WhatsApp, Snap, etc.) are just lesser versions of IG.
