I heard an acoustic version of Ariana Grande's "Hate That I Made You Love Me" this morning where her vocal was clearly autotuned, which feels like it goes against the whole spirit of an acoustic performance?

"Hey, Marc, how was Zach Bryan?":
boston.com
Zach Bryan shows off work ethic at first of two sold-out shows at Gillette
Even as someone with a job as ostensibly easygoing and, for lack of a better word, glamorous as "successful singer," Bryan aims to make it clear that he's a working man.

How long did it take me to get out of the Gillette parking lot last night after Zach Bryan? So long that I was able to listen to AN ENTIRE OTHER CONCERT BY THE POLICE before I could even move.

This feels like the final form of the hi-fi nerds who gas on about how gold wires make records come alive like nothing else or whatever and can't talk about the music they're maximizing with a fraction of the same fervency.

My 11-year-old thinks that every single thing is a scam, and I have to somehow convince him that no, it's not, while also simultaneously teaching him that yes, it is.

I played in a cover band in grad school, and as much as I loved playing Paul Simenon's bomb-ass bass run in "I Fought The Law," there were two songs that were thrilling and terrifying every time I had to get my fingers around them.

It has recently come to my attention that in 1996 an Oasis tribute band called No Way Sis took a cover of "I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing" to #27 in the U.K., and this TOP OF THE POPS performance demonstrates an absolutely top-notch commitment to every level of the bit.

Randomly thinking about how in one of your most celebrated episodes -- one of my all-time favorites! -- of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, a demon looked at Dawn and was like "A literal child bride, gimme gimme" and then found out that it was Xander that summoned him and was like "nvm no homo lol."

There's an argument to be made that "a police version of THE PITT" would be a direct, fundamental betrayal of everything THE PITT is and is doing, and that therefore there could be no such thing.

Not quite the same, but I had a friend in college who took to jokingly calling me "Jewboy," which was fine for whatever reason. Then someone else (in my friend circle but not my friend, which feels important) did it, and I immediately told her "Don't ever call me that again, only Derek can do that."

This is why I didn't want to touch Seth Moulton with a ten-foot ballot box. Him throwing trans people under the bus TWO DAYS after the 2024 election fuckin' sucked on its own, but it also called into question every single one of his so-called convictions and when he'd drop them as the winds changed.

What's brilliant about this Onion article -- which is one of my all-time favorites, and which I think about a lot -- is that the choice of album here is patiently ridiculous, and also... not. There are arguments to be made! And that's what makes the joke perfect.
