Another postdoc piece out today in @natneuro.nature.com! 🧠💤 In unimpaired older adults, frontal tau pathology tracked with lonely NREM slow waves that fail to travel — and these waves predicted worse overnight memory. full-text: rdcu.be/jDcgH2sK8VZa @ucberkeleyofficial.bsky.social 🧵👇

Increasing EEG electrode density improves decoding of visual categories and source localization: an exploratory ultra-high-density EEG study
Communications Engineering, Published online: 24 February 2026; doi:10.1038/s44172-026-00611-wLeonhard Schreiner and colleagues investigate how EEG electrode density shapes visual decoding performance, showing that denser arrays yield higher accuracy. Their findings delineate the practical limits of non-invasive EEG and offer guidance for selecting electrode count and spatial configuration

Here’s my Fluorescence Friday highlight: just got this beautiful shot from the locus coeruleus in our latest tissue section! You can see astrocytes (in green) glowing and wrapping around tiny blood vessels (in red), with pTau staining (in magenta) lighting up the scene. It’s wild how much is going on in just one microscopic field—so cool to see these markers all together and think about what they mean for brain health and Alzheimer’s research. Loving the chance to peek into these cellular hangouts each week! #FluorescenceFriday #PhDLife #Neuroscience

Science doesn’t need to be pretty and go according to plan; it just needs to lead to a discovery. If doesn’t have to be done alone or together with someone else; there just needs to be a discovery. It doesn’t need to happen fast or slow; just as long as there’s a discovery, then everybody is happy.
