Fuck ChatGPT flyers. The future is broadsheets.
A crowded broadsheet with way too many fonts. It says:
Forget ChatGPT Flyers
Say it with
Broadsheets
Unlimited fonts
Stretch them
Or cram a really long sentence into one line for no good reason
No whitespace
Mix capital and lowercase
Pointing hands
(They're called manicules!)
Don't be left behind
Broadsheets are the future

Your annual reminder that any treats that have black icing are probably using activated charcoal for coloring which neutralizes meds like, say, birth control pills. Ask my cousin. Quint's 6 now. This also applies to antibiotics and head meds. Be careful, please.

But if trans girls are "cheating" by playing women's sports, what else are the sneaky trans people cheating about. They're also coming for Title IX. They don't care about women in sports. They want women out of sports. Please, I am begging you, stop falling for this shit.

I got to spend the weekend with @pegasus-writer.bsky.social and @sinbetweens.bsky.social and it was pretty great! It was nice to have a weekend to just chill with friends I don't get to see often. Also I added a pride flag to my Black Sails tattoo. My 1st color tattoo & apparently I take color WELL
A very white calf with a tattoo of a rainbow pride flag (just the older, basic one with 6 stripes) blowing in the wind behind cursive handwriting of the words "Know no Shame." The quote is from the TV show Black Sails, from a book given from one queer character to another.

There are about 60 lesbian bars left in America and rather than a piece about why that is , we have lol cow bullshit I need people to start understanding that especially as marginalized groups when someone is jazzing up the dram it’s not “tea” it’s a mechanism of exposing your community to abuse

I'm still alive and busy, I'm just less online (which is probably a good thing). Been doing a ton of SCA stuff and crafting and trying to get my body working a little better. Work is going well, also. I enjoy working on BWRs because they're such odd ducks.
A shot of SCA award necklaces against a background of my purple linen tunic. The bottom one is a pelican feeding chicks a drop of blood with rainbow wings. Almost hidden is one with a black, burned (blasted) tree, with a bronze bee over it. There's a wolf on a checky background, and a diamond with stylized mountains on it.Me in my Norse SCA garb from an event in cool, windy weather - a purple linen tunic with blue on the sleeves and gold embroidery, with rainbow woven trim around the edge. I've got a thin wool cloak (just a rectangle of fabric that gets two corners held together over a shoulder with a pin) and a red hood with white trim and stylized ermine markings. I'm sitting at a picnic table trying to string up a slate frame.

I just got mine! And at least for my experience in a red part of Washington state, the pharmacy accepted just me telling them both that I needed the high dose flu vax and that I qualified for a COVID vax. Nothing needed from my doctor.

Thanks to @geekyjules.julessherred.com my new SCA "I can't go to this event but I have a friend on vigil" go-to is sending a batch of masala shortbread. They've been really popular! I've got two batches to make today to send with the king 😁 (he's a very convenient messenger rn)

Continuing my adventures in cooking from @geekyjules.julessherred.com 's book, lessons were learned while making ginger-garlic masala. Specifically to make sure to read the directions, which do *not* say to slice an entire cup of garlic 😭😆 (this is entirely on me)
A bit of an ice cube tray filled with a puree of garlic and ginger.

Concerns over fake phenomena cannot be held in good faith. There's no such thing as "good faith" concern over razorblades in Halloween apples or vaccines causing autism. If you still have 'concerns' about these issues you are uninformed, a bigot or being manipulated. No other option.

Good-faith concern on this issue would be going, "hmm, professional sports leagues should probably have some standards in place to ensure trans competitors aren't getting an unfair advantage," googling for 5 minutes, realizing every sports league already has those standards and dropping it.

a photo of a dwarf caiman with a distinctly shady expression, paddling in a shallow pool of water. he is in profile, facing right.

"It's just sports," "It will only affect a few people," & "It'll also be used against cis women" are, IMHO, all equally not-great takes on today's SCOTUS ruling, just different angles. The Supreme Court ruled it's okay to discriminate against a certain class of people. Full stop. That is a horror.

Luke told Kame that he did “not meet the minimum qualifications to serve” as TA for the course because he had not taken the course himself, Kame said.

When utilized in literature review, LLMs consistently 1. fail to mention female authors in female-led literatures, 2. insist that men are more influential or more heavily cited when this is contradicted by objective citation counts, and 3. attribute women’s work to hallucinated male scholars.

If you are a cis person just state your pronouns, or state the pronouns you'd like to use that day. He, she, they, it, xie, per, these are all fine. "Any pronoun is fine" is also fine if it's true. "My pronouns are sparkle/sunshine," fuck all the way off. Also, do not ever add "obviously."
