Today 10/5/26 the remaining grandmother cottonwood tree (on the U.S. side) was killed in Lochiel, AZ. The brave protesters at camp O:shad were arrested after 70 days of protecting the tree. See the link in bio at @rally.forthevalley to help fund their legal expenses.

This isn't only about a tree. She was an important part of the natural habitat. She was a symbol of resistance against the continual destruction of our ecosystems for political games. She was beautiful, she was resilient, she was ancient as were her fallen sisters.
This is so disheartening but through the community rallying together, the destruction was halted for over 2 months, bringing peace to the area. Though this feels like a loss, it is still a win. After the win at Big Bend yesterday, I know there will be more in our future.

The situation with FurAffinity is pretty amazing. Advertisers threatened their advertising revenue because they considered Plus Sized characters and characters HUGGING to be adult content. So FA said fuck off, and in two days raised their entire yearly funding. Advertisers are so bullshit stupid.
