I really wanted students who loved mucking around with their cars to get into an automotive programme instead of doing building, which they weren’t really into, but the places at tech were really competitive. Really need those apprenticeships back!! #nzpol

I cannot fucking believe the utter vindictiveness of these arseholes. My daughter had to go in the sickness benefit while undergoing cancer treatment & then recovery at 21. We lived on different islands so she couldn’t just move home. What the actual fuck do they think people are supposed to do??

Must confess that I've been sorely disappointed by MSM's ability to contextualise these dog-whistles. I am empathetic to job cuts, stress, anxiety, wages, & overtime/over-work. But if journalism doesn't step up to critically challenge these narratives, they occupy a greater space over time.
