Viruses, bacteria and Cancer: New review shows EBV, H. pylori, and SARS-CoV-2 fuel gut inflammation, disrupt immunity & genes, and raise cancer risk. More reasons to prevent infections. buff.ly/cpqp7JG #medsky #IDsky #oncsky 😷🛟🧪
Figure 1. EBV infection of gastric epithelial cells impinges several molecular pathways leading to GC. EBV expresses latent membrane proteins-1 and − 2A (LMP1 and LMP2A) to maintain latency and cell proliferation through a positive feedback loop with NF-kB. LMP2A activates DNA methyltransferase 3 beta (DNMT3B) causing genome-wide methylation contributing to gastric cancer (GC). The virus may promote DNA hypermethylation in GC, with phosphatidylinositol-4,5-Bisphosphate 3-kinase Catalytic Subunit alpha (PIK3CA) mutations. These mutations may lead to cell proliferation. Other pathways leading to tumor growth, induced by EBV, are Janus kinase 2 (JAK2) and insulin-like growth factor 2 (IGF2) signaling. EBV-encoded microRNA (miRNA) clusters, including miR-BART-1 and − 2, are highly expressed and promote cell survival and immune evasion. In the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME), B cells infected by EBV were found to deliver exosomes carrying miR-BART-15 to epithelial non-EBV-infected cells. The virus might utilize the same mechanism to deliver miR-BART-15 into gastric epithelial cells to inhibit the activation of the inflammasome nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain, leucine-rich repeat-containing protein 3 (NLRP3), thus mitigating the inflammatory antiviral responses. EBV evades immune recognition by overexpressing the co-inhibitors indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1), Programmed Death-Ligand 1 and 2 (PD-L1 and PD-L2).

You need a balanced, not boosted immune system!
PSA: You need a balanced, NOT 'boosted' immune system!
The immune system is complex, and needs to exist in balance and harmony.
Turning your immune system too high leads to overstimulation and inflammation. Remember, autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis occur when the immune system is overactivated and attacks healthy cells within the body - this is what a
'boosted' immune system looks like. Turning the immune system down leads to more infections.
Cancer and autoimmunity are two sides of the same coin - in cancer, the tumor can evade or suppress an attack from the immune system.
No supplement or food can 'strengthen' your immune system. The only evidence based ways to have a healthy and balanced immunity are:
• proper sleep
• preventing infections (wash hands, wear a mask)
• getting all your vaccines
• reducing/eliminating alcohol, smoking & other substances
• minimizing chronic stress
• wholesome nutrition & physical exercise

It's really not okay to get COVID. It really isn't mild....What feels like a really mild case can be doing massive internal damage to your body.
It's not that you're young and healthy and therefore COVID is not going to hurt you. You're young and healthy and it will feel like a mild cold for some and at the same time be doing massive damage. So you don't want to get COVID. Given that, if you accept that, the next thing is to understand that in order to not get COVID you need to be extremely careful and also fortunate. You can't negotiate with the virus. You can't say "I was really good today and was on my own so l'm going to go to a restaurant and I'm sure it will be fine". That logic doesn't work at all. It's really like the hockey goalie trying to stop the puck from going in. You've got to have your eye on that puck the entire time. You can't let up your guard and you can't say "well my last save was great so I'm sure it won't go in this time. That's not how hockey works, and that's not how COVID works.

I’m quietly meditating tonight… yet there are 2 chilling thoughts keep haunting me—

📌1. Measles is not just highly infectious with R0 of 12-18, but it has a long ***2 WEEK*** INCUBATION period—ie Texas outbreak could be in the HUNDREDS or more already, and we are seeing just the early tip of iceberg. About 20% of cases are hospitalized traditionally.

📌2. Measles infection partly wipes out memory B cells memory of how to fight past infections. Ie. Your immunity to past infections (that you’ve successfully defeated in the past) may be partly wiped out by measles. ➡️Read: this also includes wiping away immunity achieved thru past vaccinations for other diseases, not just past infection acquired immunity.

Both the details above give me chills thinking about the larger consequences of a potential massive measles outbreak.
