Germany’s Climate Computing Center is preparing to store 5 petabytes of U.S. climate data. That’s equivalent to roughly 1 billion high-resolution images. This move will help preserve U.S. climate datasets amid growing questions about their long-term availability.

Welcome
Thank you for being here. This film brings together leading evidence on the dimate and nature crisis, and what it means for the UK. It is designed to be watched together in communities like this one, creating space for honest conversation and constructive civic engagement.
Across the UK, people are now coming together to ensure these risks are property understood, openly discussed, and responded to with the seriousness they require.
A growing national effort
The National Emergency Briefing is building support for a government-backed televised emergency briefing to the nation on the climate and nature crisis.
The initative began at Westminster Central Hall, where more than 1,200 MPs, peers and leaders from across UK society heard directly from senior experts about the scale of the risks facing the UK and the response now required.
This film extends that work into communities and businesses across the country, where people are now inviting MPs to screenings, calling for politicians to support a Parliamentary Call for a televised briefing, and helping bring the film to new audiences.

📚 And some more advice from Mary E. Boole (1909, p. 33) which oddly reads as highly relevant for AI today … 👀 21/🧵
Take care not to become a parasite; do not lazily appropriate the results of other people’s labour, but learn and labour truly to get your own living. Take care that everything you possess, whether physical, mental, or spiritual, shall be the result of your own toil as well as other people’s; and remember that you are bound to pay, in some shape or way, everyone who helps you.
